Melodic Arps for InstaComposer | 40 InstaComposer Presets

The rain falls heavily.  You feel trapped, lonely, sad as you hide under a bridge for shelter.  Suddenly, you feel hope begin to dawn from within, and eventually the clouds break apart to reveal sunshine.  Here's how the piece breaks down...

First, I didn't need to search too far for a nice field recording of rain as Freesound had a really nice one as the random sound of the day.  I loaded it into AUM's File Player, looped it, and processed it through Velvet Machine, a lowpass filter, Bleass Granulizer (which doesn't come into play until a couple minutes in), Crystalline, Bleass Motion EQ (although simply to dip the mids, no actual motion going on), and a highpass filter.

Next came the piano. I simply loaded Korg Module Pro and used the default piano sound.  I then processed this through Other Desert Cities, a lowpass filter, Eventide Shimmer, Crystalline, and a highpass filter.

For the bass, I used Bleass Monolit. (Seriously, this synth is probably my most used synth, with Zeeon coming in at second).  I processed this through Bleass Saturator, a lowpass filter, Eventide Shimmer, and Bleass Reverb (making sure the low end of the reverb was shaved off, so it only reverberated the highs).

Finally, I used another instance of Bleass Monolit for the high synth.  I processed this through a lowpass filter, FAC Chorus, Crystalline, and a highpass filter.

The MIDI of the piano, bass, and high synth were all triggered by Fugue Machine set to an F-major pentatonic scale.

All of the sounds were bussed to the master buss on which I put DAW Cassette and a peak limiter to catch any peaks (of which there were none).
