The German duo Aloa only made one album in 1982 but it is one of the most peculiar and innovative records of the Neue Deutsche Welle movement. Ich glaube ich habe bis jetzt noch nie so viel Rotz hören müssen, um wiederum so gute, vergessene NDW tracks zu finden. 
Idee hinter diesem Mix war, einen umfangreichen Eindruck der Musikkultur der sogenannten Neuen Deutschen Welle zu geben. Den Fokus wollte ich jedoch auf den Teil dieser Szene setzten der von Nena und Markus co.kg, also dem Kommerz-Wichs überschattet wurde.
Ich habe versucht mediale Einflüsse, welche auf diese Musikkultur eingewirkt haben, in dem Intro, den Interludes 
und kleinen Snippets vor den Stücken darzustellen. Dadurch soll beim Hören (im besten Fall) der Kontrast deutlich werden, zwischen dem geistigen Abfall der damaligen Popkultur, den Hubert Kahs und der Hitparade, und einer Gegenbewegung die sich davon distanziert.
Dafür habe ich auch viele Original-Stücke benutzt, die auf Kassettensamplern in der Zeit schon erschienen sind, wo eben der ganze Medientrash der 80iger schon verwurstelt wurde.
Einer der spannendsten Dinge die ich erkannt habe in der teilweise wirklich hardcore stressigen Arbeitsphase an diesem Mix, war wie viele Eigenproduktionen und Kleinauflagen von völlig unbekannten und in Vergessenheit geraten Musikern entstanden sind. Der Typ hat ca. 1500 solcher Kassetten hochgeladen und zum Download freigegeben. Anbei findet man meistens noch eine kurze Erläuterung zu dem jeweiligen Release.

Ich habe den Mix so klingen lassen, als wäre er eine Kassette, die man einlegt und nach 30min auch wenden muss.
Dat Ding soll dann auch in Zukunft nochmal auf Kassette erscheinen.

To celebrate Daftside' birthday, one of the biggest Daft Punk fan and active person who contributed and contributes a lot to keep alive "French Touch" spirit and memory by working hard everyday on his websites "French Touch Forum & French Touch Info" that he founded in 2005 and 2011, consisting in informing people of news about Daft Punk and all the French Touch music movement, Mac Stanton decided to do a special Birthday mixtape to thank Mr Ludovic Carminati aka Daftside for all his hard work done till now!
That mixtape contains most of original tracks from "Homework Lp", first Daft Punk album released in 1997, plus 2 bonus tracks, one special Edit done by Mac Stanton, "Daftendirekt, Homework, Drive & Music Stanton Edit", and ending by a unreleased Daft Punk original production of 1994 "Drive"!
