There's No There is the new EP from Victor Holk and Indie Skies Records. The album was recorded over a two day period at the Cheatham Street Woodshed Studios, across the street from the famous Cheatham Street Warehouse where the majority of the songs were written. The album features Sterling Finlay on the upright bass, Dees Stribling on the trap set, Victor Holk sings and plays rhythm guitar, all of which was tracked live, with Victor and Sterling in the same room, playing and singing together. Colin Colby engineered and played lead guitar for the project. The result is an authentic and raw sound that is intended to invite the listener into the very emotions that birthed the songs.

Despite the bland and commercial white wash imposed by its current media giants, America is exquisitely unique in several ways. Among them is the impact that the American folk song has had upon political discourse. A melting pot of musical cultures birthed a fire for revolution that is best carried out with a guitar. In a land of free speech, the one with the guitar is king. These songs were written as part of my undergraduate thesis during University, they accompany an array of important protest songs from the 1930s to the 1980s to create a full length album. The album is also accompanied by a written thesis which aims to detail some of the aspects of protest music which have made it such a powerful tool. It  The work, as a whole, is intended to re-spark a revolution, or at least a discussion, in face of the horrendous political collapse of the once great republic.
