This is the third guitar song that popped out of my guitar after a friend changed it to DADGAD folk tuning.

A song for Alex’s birthday last week, all about meeting someone (specifically Alex) and your life changing.
I first recorded this on guitar (which I cannot play at all) and then sped ahead and added a whole lot of other instruments. This results in some pretty messy changes in tempo and everything, I’ll fix it one day but generally some of the messiness goes with the theme of the song. 
Here are the lyrics:

Images are all Jacques Callot (1592-1635, France) and Newton’s (1643-1727) Opticks (1704). Newton went to Stourbridge Fair in his 20s and bought a prism, and I just really like that the medieval carnival is where things changed. He also went there (at other times?) and bought an astrology/astronomy book he couldn’t understand, so he bought a copy of Euclid. (Metaphorically, Alex is the prism not Newton 😛)

A friend kindly tuned my guitar to folk-friendly DADGAD yesterday and this cowboy song ‘Carolyn’ popped out. My words are a bit mumbled but hopefully you get the idea, now that I’ve got it down I’m keen to learn to play it properly, currently it’s short clips stitched together :P
