Victoria Lord bâtit son projet musical par cycle de deux chansons, en demandant à un.e artiste qu’elle admire d’en signer la réalisation. Mara Tremblay a ainsi réalisé Vers la mer et Les joues couleur de fraise.

L'idée d'en faire un duo émerge et une évidence se dessine, la voix de Mat Vezio et son univers collent parfaitement à celui de Vers la mer. Co-écrite par l’autrice Gabrielle Lisa Collard, Vers la mer parle de cette envie d’exil et d’intimité pour ne plus voir l’état du monde qui nous entoure.

Victoria Lord builds her musical project two songs at a time, asking an artist she admires to produce them. She asked Mara Tremblay to choose among acoustic demos and she picked Les joues couleur de fraise (strawberry colored cheeks) and Vers la mer (towards the sea)

Vers la mer is a duet with singer-songwriter Mat Vezio and was co-wrote with author Gabrielle Lisa Collard. Its lyrics refers to a road trip, an exile into intimacy to hide from the world’s toxicity and the loudness of everyone’s hate.

Pour accompagner la parution de son premier roman jeunesse, Louise et les cowboys du Saint-Laurent, publié aux Éditions du Boréal, Victoria Lord sort un EP de 4 chansons, écrites du point de vue des personnages. Simples mais magnifiées par la réalisation d’Éric Goulet, les chansons se veulent un tremplin vers la musique country pour un jeune public moins familier avec le genre. Le premier extrait, Je roule, est un hommage aux chansons de route, du country entraînant qui donne envie de suivre Louise dans son périple!

To accompany the release of her first children's novel, Louise et les cowboys du Saint-Laurent, published by Les Éditions du Boréal, Victoria Lord is releasing an ep of 4 songs, written from the point of view of the characters. Simple, but yet magnified by the production of Éric Goulet, the songs are intended as an initiation into country music for a younger audience who is less familiar with the genre. The first single, Je roule, is a catchy tribute to road songs that makes you want to follow Louise on her journey!

A dreamy yet twangy pop-folk single about the promises and doubts that mark the daily life of love expressed over time.

Montreal native Victoria Lord spent most of her childhood in a choir, her tween years playing clarinet and her adolescence learning the fingerpicking patterns of Leonard Cohen. In 2010, she and some friends formed the country-folk band Jolie Jumper. An EP followed two years later. On a fateful evening while deejaying at Le Cheval Blanc pub, she met Québécois musician and her guitar hero, Sunny Duval. Victoria would later go on to sing on Duval's records and play in his band. They spent six years on the road travelling through Quebec, Louisiana and Switzerland, meeting inspiring musicians along the way. From 2015 to 2016, Victoria toured with singer-songwriter Mara Tremblay following the release of Tremblay's album À la manière des anges alongside François Plante. In 2016, Plante became the producer of Victoria's first full length solo album, Cars Passing By. Later that year, Victoria gave birth to her first son and, two years after that, a second son followed. Victoria now spends her time writing songs and watching her kids grow.
