I wrote this song after spending an incredible night with a new love interest. At the time, I was coming out of what felt like a zombie state of existance. Being with and around this person made me feel Alive Again. So there you have it.

Alive Again

'Yours for the Taking' was written after coming home from a tour in mid 2002. I came home only to be left by someone I was madly in love with. I was not only sad, but very angry at everything I had been put through by this person. I locked myself in my room determined not to come out until I felt better. I picked up my Montana Acoustic(first guitar I ever had) and this heavy rhythmic guitar riff just came out of me from nowhere. I kept playing it over and over again on my and before I knew it lyrics just started pouring out of my mouth. I wrote this song in a matter of minutes and it gave me the strength to leave my room and face the world again. Ten years later, I still feel better about myself after playing it.

Needs was originally named 'I need my guitar' and I thought better to shorten the name to avoid redundancy. 

Pretty self explanatory, this song delves into the soul of an artist expressing the need for her medium. The guitar is the way she 'gets it all out' so to speak. This song especially, was taken to a whole new level with the production. Dark and mystifying sounds allow you to get lost. The electric guitar solo that takes over the last chunk of the song is meant as a representation of the guitar 'speaking honestly' to the artist, as mentioned in the last few lyrics.
