Romanian artist and Misbits record store owner and record label co-founder Miss I is, as you might expect of a keen follower of many genres. With her first loves being house, techno, and electro she soon fell for the softer sides of electronic music. Trippy, quirky, but steadily grooving. With us from the very first edition and indispensable ever since, this time, Santa Musica resident Topper set the tone for the night. Have a listen to the extract of his opening set from 27.09.24 in Mannheim, Böckstrasse! 

Topper is an accomplished producer and sound engineer who moved from Torino to Berlin at the age of 20 and has witnessed the city's development first-hand for over a decade. 

His sound was influenced by his father, the "hippie" who introduced the curious child to the magical world of music and psychedelic culture and later shaped by the throbbing energy of Berlin. Over the years, his expertise and versatility have been honed, making him a highly respected artist in the industry.

The ‚contemporary voodo child’  keeps busy as a sound engineer, record collector, band member of @triptease, @clubdervisionaere resident and DJ, performing all around the globe and connecting with underground collectives in cities far and wide.

SYNERGY SELECTS 014: MISS I

Miss I is a sensational selector from Bucharest, Romania. Founder of the legenadary record shop Misbits, who is definitely one to visit if you’re in the city and hosts regular pop ups at Sunwaves festivals for the party diggers, and co-creator of Misbit Recordings, the selection that Miss I has is beyond endless. 

Moving seamlessly between soft ambient sounds to the hypnotic warping blends of electro and house, every set she produces is not only an experimental journey but a blessing to those listening. She knows how to perfectly craft an experience for the ears. 

She is a standout pioneer for female artists, who lives and breathes music with a refined taste and love of vinyl. 

Having such a vast and rich musical repertoire of music, we we’re privileged to have her on this mix!

For my birthday this year, I’m sharing something close to my heart – my set from Caleidoscop, a festival that left a deep mark on me and one I’m happy to be part of. Last edition had a special energy, and I hope you’ll feel it too through my mix.
