"Where's the Fire" provides the first glimpse of Victoria's wit. Normally this phrase arouses panic in those who hear it, but here Edwards uses it as a pun, asking herself and anyone listening just where the romantic spark has gone. It's a sweet song that sees our songstress at her most vulnerable but also shows that she's determined enough to fix things. If your spark has vanished, sometimes making a call in the middle of the night and driving across town to reignite it is the cure!

VICTORIA EDWARDS BIO 2013

“Authentic”, the second album from Toowoomba-based singer-songwriter Victoria Edwards was released in September 2012. The 11 track release features the musical talents of guitarist Danny Rader (currently on tour with Keith Urban), bass player Brandon Taulbee (Montgomery Gentry) and drummer Chris Knight (LeAnn Rimes) along with more guitars by the collection’s producer Phil Bacquie, former guitarist of Grammy nominated group Sonicflood. 

Two radio singles have been lifted from the record, ‘Open Doors’ and the current single, ‘You Aint Never’ – a duet with fellow Queensland artist Paul Cowderoy - penned by Victoria and her guitarist Micah Bacquie. The single is a fun-take on a love story – the words ‘you aint never NOT gonna get none of my love no more’ make perfect sense if you live in a trailer park with ten kids and a husband that promised the world and you’re still waiting...

“Authentic” is a truly international collaboration with the vocals recorded in Queensland and the music in Nashville. The eleven track release includes nine written or co-written by the 2013 Toyota Star Maker finalist along with tracks from Shay Watson and Joe Nash (Gretchen Wilson, Tanya Tucker) and a song penned by Jaclyn North (her songs have been placed ‘on hold’ by Lady Antebellum and Reba McEntire) and Steve Williams (Buddy Jewell & Blake Shelton). 

Over the years the College Of Country Music graduate has performed on the main-stage at the Gympie Music Muster where she was also a 2005 grand finalist in the Maton Talent Quest and at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Most recently she performed at the Chinchilla Melon festival with the McClymonts and filled in for Lyn Bowtell on the High Grounder Flood Recovery Tour. 

Victoria insists that travelling and driving down highways is in her blood and after hearing she was born in Canberra but has been to 13 different schools across Australia and New Zealand, there’s little room for doubt. Victoria found her singing voice at an early age as she was going to church choir with her mum. Praised for her strong voice ranging from gospel to country rock, she also plays the guitar while performing live and piano when writing new songs. Victoria’s debut album, “Big Blue Sky”, a reflection of the people of the Australian bush, was released in 2005.
