Of course Funk & Disco first entered the Electronic music scope long ago in the form of House music. However some new styles are emerging that definitely offer something more in tune with the sampling gymnastics of Future Beat-Makers like Onra, whose Disco infused 2010 LP Long Distance, helped pioneer the sound. The next year genre chameleon Toro Y Moi brought the same Disco influences on Underneath the Pine that Daft Punk came back with this year on Random Access Memories. Marrying the drum-machine hip-hop aesthetic with a '70s influenced Funk sound, I’ve opted to go with the term “Future Funk” to help map out this new diverse and perfectly sunny summer music.

Hot on the heels of his acclaimed "Holdin On" EP Andre Crom presents two more solo productions:

"Reality" features an epic 90ies vocal sample on top of a crisp and dark modern pop groove with catchy synth work, perfect for the night, while Hypnotizing is a bright summerish pop groover, working with an equally anthemic vocal sample.

Homework, one of Amsterdam's most up and coming producer/dj duos deliver a classy and classic remix of Hypnotizing in 90ies New York house vibe.

UK's Dusky remix Reality in the jacking house vibe which we know and love them for since their massive underground hit "Tyto Alba".

The third in a series of fragmented audio edits based upon my live DJ set recordings. Each one will attempt to capture the feeling and direction of the night, giving those who were there a reminder of the events they experienced while giving those who were not present a fragmented distortion of what they missed.

Originally recorded live in the ENTER.2 Sake Bar at Space, Ibiza and broadcast live on BBC Radio 1, Thursday, July 12, 2012.

This takes my 2 hour ENTER.Sake set and compresses it into an hour long version that gives you a fragmented taste of that evening.

It was my first time and I had a superblast time in Norway. Best host, best food and best crowd !

This event was in cooperation with SMUG MAGAZINE, the most famous fashion, art, film and music magazine of Scandinavien.

For this reason I recorded an exclusive mix + interview.

I morgen er det klart for Oslodebut for Nhan Solo fra Berlin, uten tvil en av stjernene som skinner sterkest på Nu Disco/House-himmelen sammen med vår egen norske komet Finnebassen om dagen. Som DJ, i likhet med låtene han produserer og remikser, har Nhan Solo tydelige røtter i soul og urban musikk noe som gjør Nhan sine DJ-sett sjelfulle og pumpende på samme tid. Burde være passende på toppen av Stratos altså.

I tillegg til Solo finner du bysguttene Patski Love, Chris Stallion og Cake bak spakene, så er du på utkikk etter fest med stor F er dette stedet å starte.

Nederst finner du en splitter ny miks Nhan Solo har gjort for SMUG i anledning sitt første besøk i byen. Her er en liten prat:

Først og fremst, takk for den eksklusive og splitter nye miksen du har gjort for oss! Hva kan lytterne forvente seg når de trykker play? Kan du avsløre noen av godbitene i miksen?
– Takk for at jeg får lov. Miksen begynner med min egen remiks av Betokos "Space Invader" på Nurvous Records NYC, som kom ut for en uke siden faktisk. Refrenget sier vel alt: "I am a space invader and looking for a ride"… Det er bare å trykke play og la meg guide deg gjennom den neste timen.

God idé! Du startet ditt eget label, Mother Recordings, for en liten stund siden. Hva har du oppnådd så langt? Og hva kan vi vente oss framover?
– Stemmer. Jeg startet min egen etikett i april. Vi er en frisk gjeng med venner, DJer, produsenter og kreative hoder som alle legger vår ulike skills på bordet. De ulike livshistoriene og erfaringen til deltakerne er med å forme visjonen vår. Vi rir på en massiv bølge av goodwill om dagen, så jeg ser for meg at vi fortsetter å surfe med flere 12" og digitale utgivelser i løpet av året. Vi planlegger dessuten en 1 års-jubileum compilation med kjerneartistene våre i neste april. Så langt har vi blitt remikset av respektable folk som Daniel Dexter, The Revenge, Audiojack, Adriatique, El_Txef_A, NTFO, Fritz Zander. For å nevne noen.

Vi har hørt at du kjenner vår egen up-and-coming housestjerne, Finnebassen? Hvordan?
– Javisst. Vi inviterte Finn til en OFF & Mother Recordings showcase på Wilde Renate (Berlinklubb red. anm) jeg promoterte sammen med Andre Crom for noen måneder siden. Det var supergøy – vi drakk massevis av vodkashots til frokost, hahahahaha… Han er en ordentlig talentfull, laidback og vennlig dude!

Hva kan Oslo forvente seg av deg i morgen på Stratos, der du spiller med Patski Love, Chris Stallion & Cake? Er det første gang i Oslo?
– Jeg er supergira. Dette blir første gang jeg er i Oslo. Jeg hørte noe om at det skal være en fantastisk middelalderby midt i sentrum. Jeg selv er fra Bayern og vokste opp i Landshut hvor vi har verdens største middelalderfeiring, "Landshuter Hochzeit". Denne festen er helt totalt crazy, men jeg er sikker på at nordmenn også vet hvordan man fester… Skål!
