Gotta Get Thru This (AS Music Technology Sequenced Realised Performance)

This is a piece of coursework I did for my AS Music Technology. We had to recreate Daniel Bedingfield's track "Gotta Get Thru This", working with MIDI and virtual instruments and effects. There was also a 20 hour working time limit. 

I made my mix with Logic Pro 8, using the instruments and effects bundled with it, such as the EXS24 sampler, ES2 synthesiser and Ultrabeat drum synthesiser. Work was done under controlled conditions and involved listening and analysing (although we were also given a skeleton score to work from) as well as recording, editing, producing and mixing.

It really honed my sound design skills, as I was working on each sound with a specific final result in mind - the timbre heard in the original recording. It also helped me develop my listening skills, as I had to hear what was being played in the original in far more detail than was shown in the score we were given by the exam board.
