Victory Scene

This is one of my compositions for my IB Music class. The focus is on the music itself rather than on the recording and production (which was done in Logic Pro X, also using East West Play samples).

My brief was to compose a piece of dramatic film music, to be set to a scene following a victorious battle, when the dust settles. I tried to represent this by having a dark opening, which built up into a grand euphoria. For influences, I looked to Romantic composers such as Beethoven and Mendelssohn. I based it on a string section, because of its expressive capability. I also tried to reflect the military/battle theme by using a marching snare drum in the final section.
