Oliverdeutschmann (GER) Live At Club Kyo Sg 12.7.2014

Up next we have Milan duo, Hiver. Giuseppe and Sergio were born in the same town and eventually both moved to Milan where they started working on music together. Labels started to take an interest in their productions and they released their first EP on Vidab Records in 2012. Following this release they remixed Oliver Deutschmann and started to get booked all over Europe. A release on Curle followed and they now hold a residency at the prestigious Dude Club in Milan. This year has been another strong year for Hiver with sets at Panorama Bar and Dimensions Festival and another release on Vidab.

This is a moody intelligent mix blending the finer lines between house and techno. It somewhat echoes their productions and gives you a good insight into what these guys are all about. Be sure to keep an ear out for these two.

Hiver - Her Damit 2015 Podcast

With the first Monasterio release, we aimed to recreate the atmosphere that has made the club such an important part of the Russian techno movement. Each track from the compilation strives to represent a dimension of the club’s style, starting with powerful opener The Chamber. Oliver Deutschmann, a close friend of Monasterio, references the main room of the club and takes us on an anthemic ride full of organs and sonic spectrum requisitioning buzz. The mutating and pulsating groove of Russian resident Unbalance follows, bringing forth a change in the atmosphere and the hypnotic synths and austere percussion work of young Ukrainian talent Recid take the listener to the prime hours of the party. Danish DJ/producer Anastasia Kristensen overtakes by ways of air in a high-speed modular chase, bringing the night to a close and leaving us with high hopes for our next journey through the corridors and chambers of the temple of techno.

As with so many other DJs and producers, Oliver Deutschmann’s introduction into electronic music came through his friends taking him to a club. This first brush with techno sparked a deep love of the music within him and it wasn’t long before the young DJ was putting on his own parties. As his reputation grew he started getting booked for bigger and better clubs, naturally evolving towards production at the same time. With friend and production partner Stephan Hill he founded Vidab records in 2007, releasing a steady stream of minimal techno themselves and from a small collection of their peers. Deutschmann’s solo productions began appearing at the same time; his steady, peak-time techno coming out on Vidab and other labels like Konsequenz and Polytone. Scoring some successes with the label and with his various projects, Deutschmann continued to extend his reach, turning out deeper house cuts for Aim, Jackoff Records and Vinyl Did It. In 2010 he also set up his own label, an off-shoot of Vidab called Falkplatz whose releases tread a similar path and are of the same high quality. On the eve of the release of his debut album, Out of the Dark, LWE got in touch with Deutschmann to quiz him on the recording of his first long player, some of his many collaborative projects, and his record label. The German producer was responsible for our 157th exclusive podcast, a solid hour of quality techno which shows he’s just as proficient behind the decks as he is in the studio.

The next delivery by @OFF-Recordings is fast approaching and marks their 135th release, which is a revered achievement by any standard.

Label boss @Andre-Crom calls this one The Existence EP with two original works and a blitzing remix in tow too.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the remix by none other than @OliverDeutschmann, who is due a DTMIX in the coming months. He takes it up a notch with a speedy BPM providing an instant energy, that is then balanced with a gothic atmosphere of hypnotic, circular drone sounds. Sputtering hats and an undeniable rolling groove mean there is some real fire power waiting to be unleashed on this one.
