Vidlunnia
Was formed on 2010 in Poznań (Poland) and finished it's activity on the 3rd of January 2013. The orgin of the band's name comes form the Ukrainan language and means 'an echo' which symbolizes the space of nature and music. Traditional songs from Ukraine, Belarus and Poland, which have been determining the life rhythm of peasants are the main inspiration for the band. Vidlunnia's music is a longing for past sounds and rites from ours grandmas' times. The music transmits listeners to a microcosmos of traditional culture and simultaneously locates it in a contemporary context of modern music. Apart from traditional style of singing ('white voice' technique) and folk playing style, Vidlunnia uses instruments connected with Western culture enhanced with instrumentation from other traditional cultures. Vidlunnia is a laureate of Polish Radio Folk Music Festival 'Nowa Tradycja' - Warsaw (III place).
