A year ago exactly my daughter Maya was born in Warsaw.
 Unable to be at the hospital because of covid regulations, I was waiting for my girlfriend and baby to come back safely.
 After initial messages that everything had gone well and Maya was ok, my girlfriend called me in panic telling me something was wrong with baby Maya’s lungs and that she had to be intubated.
The feeling of dread and helplessness that overcame me was unmatched.
 I had never thought I would care so deeply for someone I hadn’t even met at this point. 
What followed was ten days of agony, waiting alone at home, surrounded by slowly deflating balloons of well wishings, unable to be physically there for my girlfriend and not knowing whether or not my baby would make it out alive.
 In these ten days, I wrote a song for Maya, as well as for me I guess, to cope with it all. This is the song I wrote.

Il y a exactement un an, ma fille Maya est née à Varsovie.
Ne pouvant être présent à l'hôpital en raison des règles covid, j'attendais solo chez moi que ma copine et le bébé reviennent sains et saufs.
Après les premiers messages indiquant que tout s'était bien passé et que Maya allait bien, ma copine m'a appelée, paniquée et en pleurs, pour me dire qu'il y avait un problème avec les poumons de Maya et qu'il fallait l'intuber.
Je n'avais jusque-là jamais connu un sentiment d'effroi et d'impuissance aussi fort.
En grand cynique, je n'aurais jamais cru un jour me soucier si profondément d'une personne que je n'avais jamais rencontrée. 
S'en sont suivis dix jours d'agonie, à attendre seul à la maison, entourée de ballons de vœux qui se dégonflaient lentement, incapable d'être physiquement présent pour ma copine et ne sachant pas si mon bébé s'en sortirait vivante ou non.
Pendant ces dix jours, j'ai pas beaucoup mangé, mais j'ai écrit une chanson pour Maya, ainsi que pour moi, je suppose, pour faire face à tout cela. Voici la chanson en question.
