Almost two years after their Austrian Amadeus Award nominated debut album "Different Believers", Allen Alexis present their second LP "The Other Side" at the end of November, releasing it only on vinyl at first. The first extracted single "Over the Sea" is already in heavy rotation on the radio.
The name is the game, since this time a more different, club-oriented side of Allen Alexis was increasingly brought to the fore. Musically, the album does not only live up to the musicians' various orientations, but also to the multiple personality of the artistic character Allen Alexis, in which the de- and reconstruction of their tracks are being reflected.

The first track we ever uploaded on the SEKOIA channel was a remix of an original by N'to. That was over two years ago, and now it's finally time to get the gifted French musician on board for a podcast. A new podcast series that's curated with the team from Buiten Westen, showcasing music of artists that are playing their festival on July 19th in the Westerpark, Amsterdam.

N'to will be playing the Pleinvrees stage, which always seems to be filled with French names, with Joris Delacroix and Worakls lined up as his colleagues for the day. It's interesting to see the shift every organisation is making musically recently, especially with Pleinvrees moving into more 'emo' territory and taking a step back from the poppy deep house we've come to know so well from them through the years. 

Not a bad move if we may say so. On the contrary: the whole line up seems really fresh and the switching up of some of the participating organisations makes it feel all new and shiny again. This is one of the quintessential festivals the city of Amsterdam has to offer, almost right in the center of town, and we're happy to be part of it. - FJ.

While the original track is a bass-heavy tune driven by a pervasive Eastern synth, Mars Leder's interpretation lifts the vibe with a melodic twist paired with the punchy kick game characteristic for his productions. 

The EP is out today on vinyl and digital, available from Bandcamp and other stores. By buying this release, you are not only supporting a great label, but also the NGO 'Mission Lifeline', who are working tirelessly on sea rescue in the Mediterranean.

Even though he lived in the Netherlands for a while, Japanese producer and sound sculpturer So Oishi first discovered SoHaSo on his return to Tokyo, where he now resides. The Lithospere EP is his impressive debut for the Utrecht-based label. 

https://soundcloud.com/sooishi's music has a unique soothing sensation while its psychedelic undertone resonates on various levels. The four tracks on this EP are simply phenomenal, whether you are into deep ambient soundscapes (Lithosphere, Rays), wonky break beats (BLOSC Figure One) or seeking a decisive Japanese answer to early Autechre-records (Nighthawk). 

While in The Hague, So Oishi studied algorithmic composition and sound synthesis at the Royal Conservatory. "I was doing geeky programming and developed my own software synthesizer and a composition program when I was there", he looks back on his Dutch years. He still uses both elements in his compositions from time to time. And it shows, because So Oishi has carved out his very own unique sound on the Lithospere EP.
