A Brief Utopia (A project by Jinjé) A Brief Utopia was born from an EP released earlier this year by Jinjé (aka, Lee J Malcolm from Vessels) on Scene Unseen. Stepping away from his usual production duties and focusing more on his passion for live drumming and percussion instruments. This was the starting block for much of the composition on the this record. He quickly realised that this would be a brilliant thing to do live and reached out to fellow musicians Danny Templeman (Submotion Orchestra, Gentleman’s DubClub) and Nathan Moseley (Fwar, Brolin) to put together a high energy show aimed at clubs and festivals alike.A Brief Utopia brings a colourful, vibrant and visually engaging experience. Drawing on a love of music from around the world focused through a lens of live drumming, tuned percussion and psychedelic synth work.

Für die Ewigwachgebliebenen zum Feierabendbier, für die Frühaufsteher als Seelenfutter zum Wochenbeginn: Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise. Alles erlaubt, was gut tut und Gedanken kreisen lässt, nur der Name ist Programm: cremig, fluffig und ganz schön weich.

Nach all den Brettern, die die Welt bedeuten, packt der Herr mit Stimmband und Synthie heute seine Plattenkiste für Luises kleinen Hobbykeller. Legt euch auf den Läufer, denn Monolink​ bleibt auf dem Teppich, sitzend wie der Kopfschmuck, der alles wieder gerade rückt.

In diesem Sinne: Jazz, Jazz, Jazz.

┋Mira presents 'Tributo de los Andes' Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr. 83┋

Unser Podcast Nummer 83 kommt diese Woche von niemanden Geringerem als von der bezaubernden und umwerfenden Mira. 

Lange Jahre beeinflusste Mira die ost-deutsche Techno-Szene bevor sie vor ca. 10 Jahren ihre musikalische Heimat in der legendären BAR25 in Berlin, später Kater Holzig und jetzt Kater Blau fand. Während ihrer Zeit in Berlin hat sie ihren ureigenen Sound geformt, der an endlose Nächte voller Wunder und Gefühlstiefe erinnert.

In der Bar25 war es auch, wo sich Miras Wege zum ersten Mal mit Chris Schwarzwalder, NU und Jo Ke kreuzten; daraus entstanden sind nicht nur lebenslange Freundschaften sondern auch kreativer musikalischer Austausch, Kooperationen und ein nicht enden wollender Output an toller Musik.

Jeder, der selbst schon einmal in den Genuss ihrer endlosen Sets gekommen ist, versteht sofort warum ganz Berlin ihren speziellen Sound so sehr schätzt. Warm und  hypnotisierend geht er unter deine Haut und lässt dich mit einem Gefühl tiefer Verbundenheit zurück.

Ihre Erlebnisse und Gefühle eines 2-monatigen Peru/Anden-Trip stecken nun in diesem entschleunigten Meisterwerk. Vielen Dank liebe Mira das du dir die Zeit genommen hast und unseren Hörern wünsch ich maximalste Freude bei dieser Reise.

"Vor uns tauchte ein heller Lichtfleck auf, es war die Ausfahrt aus der Schlucht in die Ebene. Ein sanfter Wind wehte von dorther. Danijar sang wieder. ... Wenn ich doch das Lied Danijars auch nur annähernd wiedergeben könnte! Es hatte fast keinen Text, ohne Worte öffnete es die ganze weite menschliche Seele. ... Ich wusste nicht, wie ich das nennen sollte, und ich weiß es auch heute noch nicht, vielmehr ich kann nicht bestimmen, inwieweit das an der Stimme lag oder an etwas Wichtigerem, das unmittelbar aus dem Herzen quillt, das die Kraft hat, in anderen die gleiche Erregung auszulösen. ... Mir erschienen auf einmal all seine seltsamen Gewohnheiten, die bei den Leuten Unverständnis und Spott hervorriefen - seine Verträumtheit, seine Neigung zur Einsamkeit, seine Schweigsamkeit -, in einem anderen Licht. Ich wusste jetzt, warum er abendlang auf dem Wachthügel saß, warum er die Nächte einsam am Fluß verbrachte, warum er ständig nur ihm wahrnehmbaren Klängen nachlauschte und warum seine Augen zuweilen aufloderten und die Brauen sich plötzlich erwartungsvoll hoben. Das war ein Mensch, der eine tiefe Liebe in sich trug. Keine Liebe, das fühlte ich, wie man sie für einen anderen empfindet, sondern eine weit größere, die Liebe zum Leben, zur Erde. Ja, er verwahrte diese Liebe in sich, in seiner Musik, er lebte durch sie."
