We are a great admirer of FROND's work, both as an DJ across the UK's subterranean/swampy rave scene, and through her precise production style, displayed in her recent People & Places release. We also have v fond memories of her masterful set at Bakk Heia last year, where she gracefully tunnelled through the gears towards collective joyful chaos.

This mix is a reflection of FROND's ability to toe the line between driving body movers, and euphoria inducing tear grabbers. It's a powerful combination, and one that drives straight to the heart. <3

The latest firmware update for the Virtual Utopia servers has been released, offering a simulated experience audio-coded by london-based Bethan (@bethan_l). A luscious adventure through dreamy organics, transiently spanning downtempo to trance, all immersed in sheer chromatic layers of formless, ethereal beauty. 

Here, the water glows with an otherworldly luminescence, and the delicate ripples shimmer with a soft purity that calms the soul. You breathe deeply, the clean air surrounding you radiates a warming hum so present it's almost audible. The hum feels omnibenevolent—so harmonious it seems to stretch beyond the boundaries of the physical, vibrating in tune with a dimension where only pure energy exists.

From beneath the translucent waters, something begins to rise—a presence, a fractal unfolding of light and sound, fluid and formless, bending and shifting with the rhythm of existence. It is a living, breathing connection between the unseen and the seen, a metaphysical healer from a distant reality resonating on frequencies higher than those known in our world.
Below these quiet waters, a lotus begins to grow, its petals unfolding as it reaches for the first soft kiss of light. Introduced by robotic voices and looping hip-hop breaks, it slowly drifts towards bass-heavy distortions while crossing some Massive Attack x Mos Def reference. Dubby textures give way to a ritualistic techno pulse, layered with distant echoes that seem to guide the listener through an electric dreamscape.

Alien Communications is a UK-based DJ, a record label and event series, deeply rooted in 90s rave culture while pushing the boundaries of contemporary electronic music.
Born from a love of early rave aesthetics, sci-fi culture, and deep club sonics, the sound fuses elements of electro, techno, and breakbeat, always with a futuristic twist and an ear for atmosphere.

Since launching in 2019, the project cultivated a unique space within the underground, releasing music from like-minded artists such as: Koloah, Modus, Polytunnel, Ste Roberts, and Domenic Cappello. Live recording of @sookiesarah's vinyl only set in the notorious garage room at @horstartsandmusicfestival's Club, a stripped down space where sound acts as the protagonist. The mix was recorded during the afterhours on Sunday 9th March from 11am-2pm, transitioning from a night of deep techno to housey afternoon vibes, resulting in a mix that keeps the energy high while also offering a soft landing.
