Looking back on lost delights, I have now got to a period when I captured lyrics of my songs on a laptop, would you believe thst guess is 2010-2020. I wrote very little in the early years of the millenium, turned for a few years to "ART", and the art work on this image is one of my pastel paitings from that period. No connection between the  two creations, just the idea of "hills"

'V'Hi She'Amda (Live)' is an upbeat and folky Passover-themed song from Akiva Zneimer (lead vocals & guitar) featuring Noam Barkany (harmonies & guitar) & Shimmy Hambling (percussion). The song draws from a wide range of influences (Shlomo Carlebach, Yosef Karduner, Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers) & is the first instalment in Zneimer's 'Live from the Besht' EP to be released in the summer of 2025.

it can fill the eyes of
of its listeners with tears
leaving men's hearts touched
and women bearing smudges
of mascara sadly smeared

and if it speaks of love
that they ve all dreamed of
it draws those memories near,
where it stays with them
playing again and again.,
every time their blues appear.

If music makes them laugh
it is a perfect craft
giving back on their behalf,
and it helps dispatch
all of those sadder paths
that they've walked down
through the years

and it makes two dance
it gives each heart a chance
to find some sweet romance
in the arms of a lonely guy or gal
where two lives can be enhanced

when a vocalist wails
all the sad details
of a long, lost love that failed
those words impale each heat
that had to part
from a sweet joining gone stale

and if they croon of home
for all of those who've roamed
too far away from their hometowns
the song will bid them to run
back to their dear, loved ones
where long lost welcomes
will be found.

If music soothes a savage beast
just think what it can do
to ravaged hearts and hungry souls
who are tired of hearing blues.

When music cries
