I'm Driving My Truck

Soundtrack for the demo "2018 A.D." by Five Finger Punch. It is a demo for a very limited 8-bit computer called Laser 200 with very limited sound hardware. So limited that it would be impossible to make very interesting effects on the screen while the single-channel square wave beep was playing. So we decided to "cheat" by using a pre-recorded track on a CD that the demo also used for speedloading its code and data.

"2018 A.D." demo soundtrack

Using long samples in an Amiga module for once, I tried creating an acoustic sound by sampling real instruments. Working with 8 bit samples at a limited sampling frequency was harder than I expected. And Protracker really didn't like the bass samples, so I had to work quite a lot to get rid of clicks when playing on a real Amiga.
