Love is Scattered Demo (Nothing Matters)

The music for Entropy was originally inspired by Close to the Edge by Art of Noise. Heavy synth music with hard beats made with mechanical sounds. The lyrics were written about the fear of loosing my Self in a new relationship.

In 2006, my friend and producer Drazhil (formerly D.R3X) gave the song a new life. The d.resuR3Xion mix has harmonies and a group chant at the end that I had originally envisioned, inspired by My Wild Love by the Doors.

Entropy- D.resuR3Xion

Belong was written and recorded in 4 hours. The lyrics came to me at midnight, then the chords and bassline, the minimal beat, the faster part in the middle.. Everything except the vocals were recorded by 4am. This is a song I'd like to re-record. It's an ode to the Creative Process.

Story behind the song: I read the Artist's Way by Julia Cameron and one of the things she mentions in the book is the importance of "Just showing up".  Weather or not something happens, you just have to visit your creative workstation. 

One night, around midnight I sat at the Korg and said "ok, give me a song."  I wanted to write a song about the creative process and the awakening I was feeling because of the book. 

I wrote the words as fast as they came to me.  
Immediately I came up with the melody for the lyrics and I knew that the middle was going to be faster than the first two verses.  The bass line and the chords came next, then the drums, very sparse, but I think it works with the song... Piano came soon after and the flute part was done a week later.  So everything was done by 4am.  

My most magical musical creating moment.  The song is all about letting go and giving yourself up to the creative force.  "I no longer belong to me."  Its like enjoying the chase of love.  "Don't give in, but don't leave.  I live for your grace and dream for your disease.  Call me crazy, but call me, please"

Story behind the song: I wrote the song back in 99 and updated the beat in 2006 with the help of my funky friend, Jason Dodson.  When I wrote the baseline, I felt like it really moved, so I titled the song idea "Move".  The lyrics are about moving on from a bad relationship, so the title stayed.

In 1999, VinaBlue recorded her first 4 track demo of synthpop songs after years of composing instrumental music on keyboards and writing lyrics separately. Since then she has shared her music online, and released her first song in 2003. The New Funk Order was a compilation of artists inspired by Prince, and Move – JD Remix was one of the top downloaded tracks from the album, getting over 1,000 downloads in 3 weeks.

“Move” was also featured on Indie College Radio show The Upper Room with Joe Kelly, which aired on WVOF 88.5 FM, in Fairfield University, CT in February 2004. This is the first radio show to have ever been featured on Prince’s official website, later that same year in March 2004.

VinaBlue also received radio airplay on KNSJ.org, 89.1fm in San Diego June 2014 with Truth of My Beauty on their Home Vibe San Diego show.  Her first CD single, Entropy, as well as other tracks have been released through CD Baby since 2017.

New Drumapella remix of her latest single Love is Scattered is now posted. The fully produced song has over 6000 streams on Spotify.
