A theme for a final boss in a(non-existent) RPG. This song was composed as part of the Game Music Composition course on Udemy.
Here's the plan I made before writing:

Origin of Inspiration: Mood
Composition:
Scale/Mode: Include some diminished chords, maybe a locrian mode for extreme tension
Time Signature: 4/4, maybe with a 7/4 section to build tension/unease
Composing Method: Chords first
Structure: Arpeggio intro, buildup, main theme, cooldown, repeat
Length: ~3 min
Mood & Feelings:  Finality, high stakes, long struggle, nebulous space, end of the world, creepy
Detailed Compositional Description: The first two sections will play while the party is just mapping in and seeing the boss for the first time. They should set up a sense of awe and intimidation. Right as the player begins to take action and formulate a strategy against the boss, the full complement of inspiration kicks in. After some battling, the cool down will be designed to discourage the player with a sense of hopelessness. 
Instruments: Deliberately choosing everything Karleen says is not typical of a boss theme: Synthesizers, electric guitars, drum machines, just to be different.

Final Boss Theme

An original composition I made of a battle theme for a JRPG style game. I believe the game in the image is from "Omega Quintet" by Galapagos, but I've never played that, I just used the image for visual inspiration.
