« Les Arènes du Vinyle »

A la fin des années 80, en 1988 exatement, à l'heure annoncée de la disparition des vinyles, une bande de jeunes activistes se retrouvent à Paris dans le groupe de platinistes initié par Aline Thivolle, performeuse: « Les Arènes du vinyle ». 

Chacun•e• amène sa platine, ses haut-parleurs « domestiques » et ses vinyles.

Carole Rieussec et Aline Thivolle se retrouvent quelques années plus tard et se souviennent de cette aventure musicale qui a notamment réuni Ruelgo, Yann Richard, Pascal Dauzier, Nicolas Wilmann, Emmanuel Carquille,Jean Kristoff Camps, Francis Larvor, Gino Favotti. 


Une bande sonore récemment numérisée par Lê Quan Ninh donne à entendre ces sonorités magnifiques.

Fairy Tale: Breathing, humming, creeping, playing and questioning - where are we? The piece plays with hints, associations and memories. The only soundsource of the piece Fairy Tale is my voice. The use of electroacoustic tools allows me to extend the voice into new areas of expression and to develop another sonic language for the human voice.

Flashback:  6.49 min.; 2016     fixed media, stereo
The piece Flashback plays with different timezones, perceptions and memories that don't quite mirror what really happened in the past.
The use of the voice, musicbox, prepared piano and an analogue synthesizer along with an almost complete absence of effects, emphasizes an attempt to dock onto the past. This makes the memory seem more poetic than it actually was.
....a collection of memories....
