Transplant Eggplant

This poem is the title poem from my fifth poetry collection which is due for release at the end of October beginning of November. It is a response to the terrible scenes of racial hatred which are played out on the streets around the world, particularly in America.

Eat Not My Brother

his is a recording of the poem Meadbh Otherman which is the story of a young woman who studies a multitude of languages but who mixes her accents up. 
The poem then goes on to describe how she has a power in her eyes which is like the painter Pablo Picasso. Her eyes are the kind that you would get lost in, even looking at a photograph of her you find yourself lost.

It is read by the poet, and is one of his most popular poems.

3 Méabh Otherman

This is a reading of the excerpt Howl For my Messed Up Generation which is from the larger poem This Bird's Gonna Fly. It is a poem of lamentation about the way that heroine had destroyed many of the best members from the poets generation. It is inspired in no small part from the poem Howl by Alan Ginsberg.  It will.

A poem from the collection There Are Words. The poem The Spider And The Fly gives an account of the time a poet watched a spider trapping and fly and then eating it in the web. 

THE SPIDER AND THE FLY

There is a fly
Caught in a web
And I sit watching
With anticipation for its death
Death with purpose
The spider's purge
The sullen fly
Shall become a meal
The hungry spider waits
Its silken web shall wear the fly down
And then
The spider shall eat it

4 The Spider And The Fly

This is my first student piece, which is a nocturne for solo piano and is based on the Dies Irae a medieval tune often used in church music but since then has been incorporated into works by other composers such as Berlioz in Symphonie Phantastique and more liberally by Sergey Rachmaninov.

Vincent S. Coster is an Irish born poet, writer and artist who now lives in the UK. He began writing poetry as a way of venting the frustrations of being an outsider in a small rural village in Ireland when he was twelve, but it wasn’t until he was nineteen that he decided to take up the vocation of poetry as a serious craft. Since then he has tirelessly worked on developing his poetic voice with a determination to take up the mantle as the ''Poetic Oracle of his nation,'' and sees himself as the heir apparent to Seamus Heaney in the line of great Irish poets stretching back to WB Yeats.
