5th Monday In Aug

This was the first sequence I ever wrote. I composed this in twenty minutes back in 1990 after purchasing my Ensoniq EPS workstation keyboard. This was just the first thing to pop out of my head! I was thinking of a show tune that sounded like "The Tonight Show Band with Doc Severinsen" featuring "Count Basie" on piano, opening up the "Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson". Enjoy!

    This song is about the end of a relationship between two people and  the heartache or emotional emptiness that follows.

  Similar to death, there is a grieving process that follows the 
breakup, divorce, or severance of a relationship and Bob masterfully uses lyrics to take the listener with him to join in his own emotional death march!

“Electric Lady” was recorded in 1979 at Moon Studios in Sacramento, CA. by some friends of mine but the song never got picked up by a major record label. Ray Raymond(R.I.P.)-Guitar, Doug Lovelace-Keyboards, Studio Engineer-Gary Waltman, Lead Vocals-Michael Samuels(R.I.P.) was a dear friend of mine. Michael played drums for "Sly & The Family Stone" and on occasion played with "Vinnie V. & The Groove". Enjoy!
