Test01

I stumbled upon the 'Tokyo's Coolest Sound' blog (http://coolestsound.jp/) a couple of years ago. Back then, mainstream bands such as Chelmico and Creepy Nuts released some of the grooviest songs I had ever heard in an animated series (remember 'Easy Breezy' and 'Yofukashi No Uta'?). Of course, I started digging the internet to find out more informations about who they were. Which led me after a few clicks to Patrick Benny's Pandora box...

Also known as DJ 810, the man is canadian and lives in Tokyo since year 2000. As I figured, he became since a true connoisseur of the local pop-rock scene: releases, live dates, signings... you name it. In the end, as I was scrolling down TCS page after page, it became obvious to me that, if I ever wanted to get more familiar with the modern sound 'Made in Tokyo', I was definitely knocking at the right door.

Back here and now, and as a kind tribute to Mr Benny's infinite knowledge, I finally realized this 'sort-of-japanese-pop' oriented mix last summer. Like the soundtrack of my late travel to Akira's city. If there's anyone here planning a trip to Japan, please feel free to lend an ear to 'Tokyo's Coolest Sound'. The one and only. Enjoy!
