Went on a drive and built the drop of the remix in my head! By the time I got home, I had already forgotten which song it was.

this edit follows a lot of the style I've tried to create - it hits hard but also has this huge emotional & melodic undertone that combined, I feel, gives more than a traditional cookie cutter track.

when the opportunity came up to remix a record off @krane's LP, I agreed without hesitation. after getting the remix started at home, I went to the Dim Mak studios to crank out the rest.

instant inspiration is something that I find very difficult to capture and translate, yet after working in different environments for four straight days my original inspiration remained intact. this remix almost doubled the amount of individual tracks I've put into any project and I believe it embodies what I set out to create; something bigger.

After being a fan of @aviella-winder for a while she sent me the demo that has since turned into this record. it has gone through so many different versions during the 7 months we've been working on it that we even ended up making an acoustic.

I managed to finish this idea by leaving it for a few weeks without listening to it or working on it. A fresh pair of ears when I came back helped me create within something that wasn't finished in the first place. I never used to work well like this but every track on this EP has been finished this way.

When the opportunity came to remix this @gryffinofficial track I didn't know where to take it. The feel good vibe of the original was so infectious but I felt it could be taken somewhere completely different.

I started searching through old hard drives to see what I was listening to when I was growing up and found that the sound I've been looking to create dated as far back as the first bands I ever fell in love with.

Although the drops in the remix are familiar to the Vincent sound you know, the rest of the remix has opened up a new path that I'm pushing in all my future releases. Something deeper than "future bass" and electronic music, something more energetic and something reminiscent of the sound that I fell in love with when I started developing my own taste in music as a kid.

RL Grime ~ I Wanna Know (Vincent Remix)

After touring Australia this year with @enschwayofficial & @daktylmusic I decided to buy a guitar and try to teach myself how to play. I’ve always been fascinated by the sound and I felt it would add a new element to how I create.

This song was the second time I tried to record something with the guitar and as I kept working, the song felt like an extension of Breathe. Something playful with a more mature sound that has similar emotion of the original.

I grew a lot this year being thrown into situations I didn’t expect and a lot of life events that you can never predict or prepare for. I spent the last half of the year throwing myself into anything that felt outside of my comfort zone - to grow not only as a musician but as an individual.

This is one of the last releases of the year but the first to show how that feeling has shaped the music I’m creating and who I’m becoming.

Breathe 2.0

After finding out this was Pauline's first session she brought up an idea she had made before coming over as something to start with. She had already written this song from her perspective talking about being nervous about a significant other and what they were doing behind her back.

We started in the afternoon and wrote out the entire first half of the song together - we stopped to get poké and came back to write the second half. I thought it could be cool to write the second half from the other perspective. Pauline suggested I sing the second half to bring that idea to life even more to which I definitely said no, but after a bit of convincing and Pauline telling me I sounded somewhat like Eden I said fuck it and started recording.

By 3am the song had been finished, front to back in just over 12 hours.

The contrast between both vocals and combining them to resolve the story as a duet makes this song special. I remember both of us listening to it multiple times a day after it was finished and both being ecstatic about it.

Pauline is such an incredible singer/songwriter but also producer - She's the majority of the reason I even sound half decent while singing and tons of other changes throughout the song that made it feel right. We we're swapping off my PC multiple times an hour going back and forth when either of us had an idea to add. We almost ended up losing the project at one point and named an audio channel "FLUT THIG" that ended up becoming the first name of the demo and the inside joke between the two of us.

Thank you for being a part of this EP and helping create a song that I will stand by forever. FLUT THIGGGGGGGG

Vincent & Pauline Herr ~ Can't Help Myself

Surprisingly enough, Alexa was the first person I had a session with for this EP, and this was the last song finished. We got to know each other fairly well and started writing the basic idea of the song up until the drop and then called the session.

Before going to bed that night I wrote a note with an idea of what I was hearing in my head. Within a couple of minutes the next morning, the first try at the idea worked perfectly and fit the song (which never really happens). I fleshed out the rest of the production the rest of the day and sent back.

We set up a session right before the EP was done to flesh out the second verse and Alexa changed the chorus melody which gave the song so much life and energy. A lot of tailoring the song to fit, replacing chops and constantly bouncing different ideas around - we finished and the song sounded complete.

Love, Alexa is one of the most interesting people I've had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know - her background and sound are one of one and come full circle with the way she writes and sings. There were moments while recording where I laid down with my eyes closed and just listened to her voice. Thank you for helping create this song and for being a part of the EP.

between finishing the EP & starting tour, I took a break from producing and decided to let the time traveling help inspire me. I wanted to write something with a similar feeling of the EP songs while also having more energy for a show setting.

I started the remix in New Zealand on a beautiful afternoon and once the strings were altered it felt as uplifting as the day outside - Bazzi's voice floats over the song and brings out so much happiness that needed to be accented as much as possible.

to me, this has the core sound of the EP in mind with energy - a summer jam with friends on a day similar to the one it was started.
