Always loved this song so much from R.E.M. (fables of reconstruction, 1985), a technically limited band they were said to be, but the level of tension heard in a pop song is rarely like this. 

I fell asleep and read just about every paragraph.

I cannot sing anything in a classically trained way, but I came out with my own melody after starting with read poetry. Might be my favourite in Charles Ives songs.

Une composition vocale de 16 minutes où l`absence de paroles et d`écoute des autres prises lors de l`enregistrement (environ 100 ont été considérées pour toute la composition) permettent des combinaisons polyphoniques différentes. La voix demeure acoustique (seulement un peu aérée) et les harmonies entendues sont accidentelles et naturelles.
