We wish you were here, there, or anywhere to celebrate with us 25 years of Cocoon.

On our birthday, the big 25, we have a special present which please share and enjoy with us.

Sven went boldly where no one had gone before and created Cocoon. And we have never stopped - until the world did.

The 30th April 1996 is where it all began. This has to be the right moment to present the very first bit of our, let’s say it, influential history.

The Drumcode A-Sides compilation is quickly becoming synonymous within the techno world as a go to compilation for the hottest tracks that are deservedly A-side material in their own right. Each specific track has it own unique character that brings an outstanding and electrifying aspect to the compilation that as a whole makes it something extremely special. Mixing both highly experienced and new artists has helped to bring a new dimension to the compilation that makes it such a special array of tracks.

Butch’s newest offering ‘Retechno 2’ is a bass-heavy, dark, two track techno delight. The kick drums are intense, the samples interesting and the synths apparent – Butch’s quirky style of production can be heard throughout. Magnetic, holding a futurist edge with it’s spaceship sounds, cuts a deep groove with eager crescendos and heavy drops. Antimatter is packed with energy, a driving bass line and fierce drops. Butch’s productions are raw, powerful and robust - a release not for the faint hearted.

It’s almost as if Techno is in Mark Reeve’s DNA. With the electronic pulses flowing through through his veins as the draw of the Techno Fatherland led Mark to settle in Germany, where he has since established his reputation on labels such as Cocoon, Drumcode, Bedrock, Soma and Trapez. A list that reads like the upper echelons of electronic music.

The natural extension of this journey was to start a label, called SubVision. SubVision has been quietly growing and maturing in approach, to reach this point - the launch of 'SubVision Various'. A forward thinking selection of all new cutting edge music where the SubVision roster grows to break new artists alongside established names at the top of their game. This diverse LP gives listeners and DJs a wide scope of options, as well as presenting an exciting snapshot of how the SubVision musical philosophy intends to grow.

Super Moon

Vincent Hole makes his first phobiq appearance with four mightily powerful tunes and the title track "Without You" is up first providing a furious bassline and hypnotizing synths. Next one is "Bad Love" which goes darker with mysterious sounds and menacing stabs, preparing the ground for a more sinister approach before "Like A Phantom" takes over with electrified basses while crackling percussions push for an epic ride. Closing the EP is "Mystic Nocturne" where the gears are pulled back at the beginning with a deep-atmospheric opening before heavy synth chords and stomping beats take center stage.

TRTLNCK is back with another four track V/A, representing the sound of blooming Copenhagen techno at it’s finest. TRTLNCK006 starts off with an elegant and melancholic journey by Riesenfeld; ‘Green’ is as bizarre, as it is catchy and hypnotic. Next up is the remix by Copenhagen techno pioneer; CTRLS, and Riesenfeld in collaboration, delivering an absolute perfect cross-generation interpretation of the original production, a timeless classic in the making. The B-side is started off by a ruthless Modah production straight from his tool shed of Northwestern Copenhagen; ‘Skin Of The Loyal’ is a funky banging techno track with an old school and almost nostalgic feel to it.  Resonant Pole closes this V/A off with a heavy, beautiful rave inspired techno track. ‘The New Sympathy’ is a melodic peak-time banger with heavy hardtrance accents, grasping at the nostalgic feeling of your first sweaty warehouse rave.
