Play It Cool

This song was written during lockdown, it started with a simple power chord progression recorded through my iPhone in my kitchen. I wanted to embed my punky roots but in a lo-fi way, and combine my modern day influences.

The song is about how your mind can quickly spiral out of control without having any facts. The worries and anxieties can take over, leaving you a paranoid mess. Many of us deal with these type of thoughts, they jump into your head and you have bat them away and tell yourself they are just thoughts.

Vincent George - Fever

I created this song around the arpeggiated synth and 808. I wanted it to feel dizzying and hypnotic to conjure up the feeling of being memorised by someone you've grown close to, but have only just realised how strong your feelings are towards them. 

Your mind is getting ahead of itself but you’re doing your best to keep it all under control. Excited, nervous and unsure all at the same time about what the other person is thinking. 

The lyric 'I know it's early days but my mind keeps running away' sums it all up.

Shout out to @eighteensixteen for the additional production, and my boy @maxwellbritton for his silky tones on some backing vocals which gave it another dimension.
