This is amazing Vincent, this is my favorite song off of Fire & Ice  I love this

Paul Gilbert is a brilliant guitarist, I was always more into his Racer X and solo work than his work with Mr. Big. When I first heard Viking Kong I thought it was awesome how it sounded like it had a slight Yngwie vibe to it.

When I found out the backstory to the song, Paul had reached out to Yngwie and asked him to do this song with him. Unfortunately, he declined saying he didn't have free time or something along those lines which I was disappointed that he passed on the chance to do that collaboration. But, Paul being the amazing guitarist he is basically recorded two lead tracks midway to have like a guitar duel that sounded as if it was indeed him trading solo licks.

I am nowhere near as good as either but I do love this song so, I attempted to cover Viking Kong the best I could.

In 1995 Yngwie Malmsteen released Magnum Opus which I think is perhaps one of his best albums and most critics and fans of his often overlook this masterpiece. On the majority of Yngwie's songs he often plays half step down and I think his tone has always been impossible for me to match. Since I no longer have a Strat I alter his songs by dropping it a full step down.  I spent quite a bit of time trying to mix this song so it would do the original justice.
