Vertex is a label collaboration between Verdant Recordings [Andy Green] & Exalt Records [Jamie Bargeman] releasing underground electronic music across the deep spectrum.   

Our fourth release is from the studio of Havantepe (Ismail Genc) highly regarded and loved for his elegant, meticulously produced deep techno that has been moving dance floors and satisfying discerning minds for the last 2 decades.   His collectable and prized records have been released by Baum, 200, Grounded in Humanity, Berg Audio, Luck of Access and of course several tracks & remixes on Verdant Recs.

Rain on Window was conceived when Andy and Ismail finally got to hang out in  Istanbul a couple of summer’s ago.  There are 5 tracks on the vinyl and a bonus tracks appears on the digital release.  Overcast is sublime, emotional electro based percussion layered with signature Havantepe feels and melodies.   For Rain on Window and Condensation the bpms are taken higher for head down dub techno stompers.  Verdant regular Stojche contributes a brilliant version of Rain on Window, acknowledging the truest flavours and spirit of dub editing.    Insiders Ulf & Ralf make their debut vinyl appearance with their atmospheric bealtess, ‘Cloudburst’ reconstruction of Overcast.

Randomer and L.I.E.S, back for another one: it makes a lot of sense. But "Juju" stands in contrast to the shrapnel 'n slime of our other L.I.E.S. Debut of 2015, or last year's crunching Residents. It's less an exercise in bucket-kicking techno weaponry, and closer to the complex yet oddly infectious sounds of early Bookworms or latter Shackleton.

The whole EP's a belter. Even a full seven years (seven!) into his career proper, Randomer's consistency has yet to taper off. Cop the next instalment soon: LIES063 sees release in September.

We first connected with Will early 2024 and we soon learned that his amazingly profound signature sound and the direction we want to aim our humble record label towards are heavily intertwined. We have been actively sharing ideas with the Bristol based artist for a while now and it was about time that we made something happen.

This resulted in this beautiful genre-bending journey of 120 minutes, carefully crafted and selected. We’re honoured that we get this release this beauty and it’s almost if we should work together even more in the future ;)

After the massive 'Pressure' mixes were released in August, Vince Watson keeps up the momentum with an absolute monster and two class A artists on remix duty.
'Sequential' is one of those tracks that make your hair stand up just before you run to the DJ booth to find out what it is. 

BASS!! 2 huge baselines fill the room and a trickle of sublime melodies follow suit…kindly given breathing space by a sumptuous breakdown before the energy explodes again. Its up there with 'Aurelon' and 'A Very Different World' and shows yet again (how many times have we said it) that Vince Watson's productions are of a different level.
 
As if the original was not enough, also delivered here are 2 remixes by none other that DJ Rolando from UR/Jaguar fame and 2020/Planet E's Paul Woolford.
Both remixes take a different route and follow the more subtle dubby approach with Rolando going for the uptempo Jacking approach, and Paul Woolford heading straight for the main room at Berghain with a deep and dark effort, massive subs and funky percussion are the key here and both deliver on the promise.

Overall this is an outstanding package and expect to hear "Sequential' in every main room in the very near future.

Oh…and don't worry, you will know it when you hear it.

With almost 30 years in the Electronic music industry, Vince Watson has released over 1000 songs including 250 EP’s, including 15 albums and 75 remixes, and his hard work has been rewarded with recordings for some of the very best electronic music labels like Cocoon, Planet E, Yoruba, Poker Flat, BBE and Transmat as well as running his own Everysoul label.  His skillsets have allowed him to work with some of the very best electronic artists including Laurent Garnier, Joe Claussell, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Carl Craig, Osunlade, Steve Bug & Josh Wink and as a touring musician has been able to play at some of the worlds best clubs and events including Enter at Space, Ibiza, Berghain Berlin, Womb Tokyo and many events in The Netherlands. 
His radio show ‘Radio Drama’ has featured top guest from the electronic music world each month. Some examples include Ben Sims, Truncate, Manoo, Fred P, Steve Bug, Osunlade and many more.

Late 2020 Vince released an LP for The Outlaw Oceans music project entitled ‘Hope’, which was commissioned by the New York Times investigative journalist Ian Urbina and is now in production for Netflix as a documentary series.

Vince’s live shows are in demand around the world, performing in summer 2022 for Carl Cox’s birthday at DC10 Ibiza and as a former Tresor Berlin resident, his DJ sets are also now highly requested with appearances in clubs such as Berghain and Womb. Vince is currently resident of 909 Festival in Amsterdam. He debuted at Berlin’s HoR late 2022.

His sets can be heard in many headline podcasts series, where he has featured in podcasts from Carl Cox, John Digweed, Dave Clarke, Luciano, DJ Mag, Electronic Beats and Resident Advisor.

His 2021 His 18 track Detroit Techno LP ‘DnA’ was ‘[re]Sequenced’ by some of his favourite artists from the genre, including Carl Craig, John Beltran, Claude Young, Jon Dixon, Shawn Rudiman, Steve Rachmad, Stephen Lopkin and Stephen Brown.

Vince also debuted a new techno live project called Amorphic which launched with releases on Modularz, Symbolism and Token as well as a self-titled label, now 3 Ep’s deep.

As well as his ‘normal’ touring schedule and studio commitments, Vince’s experience and knowledge is also being put to use by Conservatorium van Amsterdam where Vince is working as a Senior Degree Lecturer for AEMA, the CvA’s new Electronic music school, where he teaches DJ classes, Production classes and Remix classes.
