With a Mother hailing from Jackson, MS, and a Father living in Salt Lake City, Ut by way of Nashville, TN, Vinci Lewis was born in Salt Lake City, UT where he spent most of his early childhood before his family moved to Denver, CO.
Throughout his time living out west, Vinci’s Mother instilled a strong southern foundation, sending him to live with his Grandparents in Mississippi during summer and winter breaks from school, and maintained the same style of upbringing when he would return home. This, in turn, rooted a deep understanding of who he was and where he was from. He considers Mississippi to be his true home.
Vinci’s diverse upbringing and background play a major role in his perspective and musical sound. Drawing primarily from his Southern roots Vinci stitches together bouncy rhythmic flows seamlessly with smooth, soulful, and melodic overlays while inserting spiritual undertones.
With a degree in Audio Engineering Vinci engineers his own music to create a true, and complete sound.
He has a wide variety of influences ranging from; Outkast, WuTang Clan, 8ball and MJG, Nas, Rakim, Boosie, UGK, Biggie, Big K.r.i.t., Curren$y, Ludacris, Twista, Tribe Called Quest, D’Angelo, Cam’ron, Clipse, Scarface, Lauryen Hill, DJ Quick, Curtis Mayfield, and Kanye West
