The Enemy

Carolina was written by the band as we traveled on tour from Atlanta, GA to Ocean City, MD for an early-morning radio appearance.  The lyrics count the state lines and trials and tribulations of fleeting thoughts as we drove on through the night.

The first single from the "No Going Back" EP, "Alone (I Can Hear)" is about hearing the voices of people who may have left your life, but still hearing them calming and influencing you from beyond.

Alone (I Can Hear)

Originally written many years ago, this song looks at the little things in life and how they can remain in your memory for years to come.  It also questions whether those moments can stay with us forever.

Open and full of determination, "Let Go" is about facing your fears head on and conquering them through trust and perseverance.  It truly is a feel good sing a long song!

Great Divide

The band was asked to adapt a special rock version of the classic gospel tune.  We gave it a shot!

Amazing Grace

Trends and fads come and go, but honest, heartfelt rock ‘n’ roll is here to stay, especially if Chicago rockers Vintage Blue have anything to say about it. Described as “poised to become the Windy City’s next great rock n’ rollers” by SOCO Magazine, their freshman LP - Strike The Mics, produced by the Grammy-nominated Jamie Candiloro (REM, Ryan Adams) has been added to over 150 radio stations across the country and Canada, and has been the subject of features on both WXRT in Chicago and WOCM in Ocean City, Maryland. Released in February 2012, Strike The Mics was met with even further acclaim, as the band sold out their CD Release show at Subterranean in Chicago and headlined at the Chicago House of Blues. Summer of 2012 had the band opening for Lifehouse in Chicago, Fitz & The Tantrums at Milwaukee's Summerfest, and supporting Chicago favorites The Lovehammers at the House of Blues. 

Since creating the band in 2011, Vintage Blue, which includes Will Crowden (grandson of the founder of Ludwig Drum Company) and songwriters Ryan Tibbs and Ben Bassett, has had the opportunity to support 90s rockers Vertical Horizon and even spent some time touring with Sister Hazel in December 2011, which further fueled their growth and desire to reach the masses. What they learned from those bands can be seen in their live performance, with one reviewer saying “they have a lot of fun and it is contagious,” and from another show describing the musicianship as “not only technically proficient … but entertaining.” 

Although the band are regulars in the ever-thriving Chicago club scene, selling out shows at the House of Blues, Double Door, Schubas and Subterranean, the band also just completed their first national tour.  The band rocked with some great crowds in Nashville, Atlanta, Ocean City, Philadelphia and Cleveland … and that’s only the beginning. This band is already working on the next big thing here in Chicago.
