Deep Electronics celebrates it's 10 anniversary and for this occassion I started this compilation to invite artists to express there music again in all it's diversity in genres. New artists and artists that where there at the very beginning of the podcast and label. My intention was always to combine music and photography. Later on digital renders where the face of almost every set and release.

Deep Electronics was and is always a podcast for producers and dj's to get the exposure they need and deserve. You always have to start somewhere! I hope I could contributed a little bit in there long and amazing road for them in music.

I would like to thank you all producers, dj's, followers and people that just listen. Without you this 10 years wasn't be possibel!

I hope you enjoy this release as much I did in compiling it.

Dionisaf - Ulysses (album preview)

Ulysses is another name for the Odyssey. The album is based on Odysseus' story, considering James Joyce's rethinking of the epic in Ulysses. The recording actively uses the sounds of "non-musical" objects (sea shells, paper, foam, etc.). At different moments you can hear food sizzling in a pan or a cat purring. This collection of small elements of everyday life symbolizes the modest human feats we perform every day, as we strive toward our goals. Just as Odysseus strove home to Ithaca, overcoming difficulties, losing friends, and sometimes forgetting himself, but continuing his way, each person becomes the hero of their own Odyssey. Ulysses is a post ambient album, because ambient should be plotless, non narrative, like wallpaper. But here we have the plot and connection with a lot of meanings.

Jules David : The voice sample at the beginning is of the late Emily Remler, one of the best jazz guitarists of all time. Who is also, surprise surprise, another madly creative Virgo, born on 18th of September, 1957 (Ben and I both share the 20th).
The babe you see in the picture is of the late Jane Birkin, who sadly passed away just this year and is also the mother of Charlotte Gainsbourg, two of the coolest female artists you'll ever come across.
