Took a bit of a risk here to try and stand out, no classics, no anthem bashing, played a lot of non Jungle tracks but still skankers! Thrown a few quick mixes in and tried to keep the other mixes a bit more interesting rather than mixing intros into outros and added a few samples! Plenty of BPM changes too. Bouncy summer vibes all the way. Tried to adhere to the competition rules as much as possible. Fantasy Island 14 Weekender Competition Entry (By DJ VinylStyle)

This mix is one of my proudest moments. Now technically it's nothing special (some of the mixing is shocking lol!) but it's all about track selection and the order I play them in. I did this mix purely for myself but have now decided to share it. I chose every single track on this mix for a specific reason - the feeling it emotes, a certain vocal or even just a tiny snippet of a vocal, as they all have a meaning to me. Subtone Xmas Rinse Out - DJ VinylStyle

Something very different with this one. This is for those lazy summer afternoons in the garden, ice cold beers, barbecued food and good friends. Starting out at under 100 bpm and slowly creeping up to around 130 bpm this mix will take you on a nice journey from lounging in the sun to ready to hit the party! 
This mix was partly inspired by our Honeymoon to Bali where we heard some amazingly chilled House/beach hut style local music not too different to this. Fusing Tropical House with Chill & Deep House with a few well known vocals thrown in for good measure. Pass me the bottle opener...

(On a side note, I remember this mix being pretty hard to do as a few of these tracks didn't seem like they were really made for DJing as they had really odd intros / outros / middle sections / extra bars / beats missing etc. It was all good fun though!)

The Ultimate Summer BBQ Mix (02/07/2016) - Jailhouse Jefferson

This mix is the first in a series of promotional mixes for Violation - Hard Drum&Bass where I am resident under the name 'The FaceRaiser'
It showcases the styles that I play under this name and the type of music heard at the Violation warehouse parties. 
At the time of recording it featured exclusive unreleased music and remixes from Inside Info, ButterFist & Audio Terrorist. 
I took a load of CDs with this mix on to the BangFace Weekender 2018 where I gave them away and on the back of that I was asked to play on the Sunday in the Hard Crew Heroes room as one of the DJs didn't turn up.

Subtone's 'Drum & Bass Special' Promo Mix - DJ VinylStyle

Where I live we're blessed with one of the best underground warehouse rave venues in the country and in April this year the venue turned 7!! I played 2 sets on the night, one for the Dirty Freqs crew (big up) in the second room which was straight DnB and then I was supposed to go back to back with Syncronize in the main room but ended up playing the full hour on my own so just went for a mixed bag of classics, unknowns, atmospheric, ragga, anything goes set! This is my set from that event. All vinyl mix on a 30k rig with no sound restrictions. Enjoy...

The Unit's 7th Birthday Party - DJ VinylStyle (All Vinyl Jungle Mix 4-5am!)

Saturday 18th April 2020 should have been National Record Store Day - traditionally, a day where I get up in the middle of the night or go straight from a DJ gig and join the queue at my local independent record store, stand in the cold for 4 hours and then once inside the shop, take part in a frenzied rush to find the limited edition vinyl that I'm after! Great fun!!
However, this year, due to the Coronavirus and everybody on lockdown, I decided to do a record store day tribute mix via a Facebook live stream. Now this wasn't a traditional style DJ set or mix, it was simply me selecting some of my favourite vinyl from my collection and sharing them with the listeners. Some of the records I played I had purchased from previous record store days and some of the others were generally stuff that I wouldn't usually get to play in a typical DJ set. 
I got cut off by Facebook twice, although the recording continued, but the second time I was not allowed to go live again (thanks Facebook) so unfortunately the show was cut short. I had about another hours worth of music to play.
I really enjoyed doing the show although it's a bit rough around the edges and the mic was a little loud but I decided to upload it anyway so if you want to hear me sounding really awkward on the mic and pulling off the worst radio mixes you've ever heard then this one's for you...

National Record Store Day 2020 Facebook Live Stream

This is the recording from my last minute set for the Dogs Watching You Eat crew's live stream on 25th April 2020. The live stream was in place of the actual event which was to take place at The Unit, Derbyshire on the same date but was obviously cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak and lockdown. I wasn't booked to play the actual event but unfortunately another DJ couldn't make the stream so I was asked to take their place. I played a load of tracks that I didn't really know so it's a bit rough around the edges and the mic wasn't loud enough at the start but all in all it's not bad and I haven't uploaded anything for ages so thought I'd share. Oh, and I had to slam the last tune in quicktime as I was running out of time before the legend that is Basement Phil (of Basement Records) took over, so yeah, I warmed up for Basement Phil (albeit virtually!!)
