Eyes-down heavyweight steppers await as the ROOTPLATE lathe-cut series continues its steady flow of conscious sound system music with the third 10" release. Cut onto mesmerising transparent vinyl by the famed Pressure Mastering studio, this limited edition of 60 pieces welcomes none other than https://soundcloud.com/alphasteppa (UK) to the Tripedal Crow Records family. The next-generation Dub champion has long made a name for himself through the Dub dynasty family venture and his own productions and thriving label Steppas Records. On the other side, label owner and prolific artist https://soundcloud.com/jahyu takes on the controls with equal musical prowess and sound system meditation style.

Flowing and crashing with a driving force, 'Be Water' projects reflective vocal samples into the radiant ambience, taking shape as it moves along the pulse of JahYu's crystal-clean percussion and menacing melodies. Basslines like a raging waterfall, enchanting flute and string intermezzos keep the pace - vibrations to uplift your mind, body and soul. Opening the gates to Valhalla, Alpha Steppa guides into vast depths of reverberating brass instrument harmonies, leaving it behind to make way for a new Dub order. Surging through a regenerative half-time beat, distant choirs intermingle with bespoke glitches and authentic percussion. The ensuing four-to-the-floor Dub armament gives the bass section of the sound system a proper work-out, calling for a collective state of trance on the dancefloor as much as at home.

Ben Redwood est un passionné de culture, de musique, d’art et de nature.
Tombé dans le chaudron magique de la Dub Culture depuis une dizaine d’année, c’est à chaque fois un aboutissement et une quête intérieure lorsque le moment de partager une œuvre créée dans le home-studio se présente. Heureux d'assumer une vision ouverte, engagée, sans frontière de la création artistique, c’est avec plusieurs Connexions que cette album s’est construit.
Tout d’abord avec le camarade belgo-suisse Woodub, dubmaker et instrumentiste confirmé de Oud et d'Ocarina notamment, qui est présent sur deux titres. Ensuite avec Janiss Anton, chanteuse française à la voix envoutante, qui nous fait l’honneur de proposer un titre engagé percutant sur la situation que nous vivons depuis presque deux ans. Enfin, Bruno (HDUD Mastering) qui a pu accompagner le processus de réalisation et assurer le mastering de ce nouvel opus.

The next release in the Lion’s Choice series is spread on two vinyl. One 12inch and one 7inch. Both are with the same vocal by the well-known MC Kenny Knots from the UK - a powerful tune called ‘Rise Again’ - but presented as several different mixes. While the 12inch offers another collaboration with Massive Dub Corporation from Bourges, France, on one side and a ruff and tuff remix by Digitron Sound from Zagreb, Croatia, on the flipside, the 7inch holds a more rootikal version by Ashanti Selah from the UK, ‘spiced’ with some violins by Ras Divarius from France. Of course each mix comes with a dub excursion.

In late 2015 after successfully releasing our first 7" and 10" we decided to release this long time Dubplate played by just a few Soundsystems worldwide and championed by Iration Steppas called Brixton by Violinbwoy. Slow, heavy and rough dub that made all the people crazy in the dance. Of course we sent Mark Iration more mixes and he rinsed them hard. Release was a big success and was repressed few years later. 
Now is the time for those Dubplate mixes!

Violinbwoy - Brixton Warrior Ver. 2

Wojciech Przysiezny, in dub and sound system culture commonly known as
Violinbwoy, is a gifted musician from Wroclaw (Poland). The now well
established dub merchant started his musical teachings at the young
age of ten. After years of dedicated training at a music school in
Poland, he achieved his personal success of mastering the violin.
Moving to the U.K. for a university degree in ‘music production’
helped him shape a real future in sound. It was here where he stumbled
upon the monthly dub session ‘University of Dub’ – the founding place
of his upcoming journey in dub.

This very session and sound inspired Violinbwoy to start creating
dub-influenced music off the edge. It immediately resulted in his
beats being picked up by sound systems and radio stations across
Europe and Western countries. In matter of months, his dubplates
effectively traversed the globe with support from the biggest sound
systems from the likes of ‘Jah Shaka’ & ‘King Earthquake’.

Soon after this positive movement, the Polish producer decided to give
away his first free release in 2012 named ‘Los Alamos’. His
influential sound was quickly recognised by the well-acclaimed
‘Moonshine Recordings’ flagship, which gave him the honour of remixing
‘Ireland’ by ‘Radikal Guru’. The imprint also enabled him to release
his first, highly successful vinyl release ‘Dread Out Deh’ (which sold
out in matter of minutes). This points out that Violinbwoy’s inventive
sound is accredited by the ever-growing dub culture.

The following years Violinbwoy got invited by various promoters to
come play live dub and violin shows across many venues in Europe. In
2014 and 2015 played live violin for Italian sound system ‘Imperial
Sound Army’ founded by the vocalist and producer of Alpha & Omega -
Dan I. All of this has made Violinbwoy a critical part of dub and
sound system culture. With forthcoming releases on Moonshine
Recordings, Archetype Records and Dub Invasion Records, it’s safe to
say that this musically-inclined dub producer just does what he loves
best: crafting his own version of the ‘roots & culture’ sound.
