Next up on Viper Recording is our very own Jack Mirror. Since 2017 Jack Mirror has been carving his name a little deeper into the scene with each and every release. It’s not a secret that he could be the next up and comer about to blow. Jack Mirror’s ability to blend the dark, rowdy underbelly of drum and bass music with a sing-a-long hand-in-the-air accessibility has earned him some serious support from the likes of UKF, Radio 1 and FabricLive. After the huge success of his set dominating beauty ‘Junipero’ Jack Mirror is back to bless us with another glorious piece of music.

‘With You’ effortlessly secretes a cool, understated lure. The track’s forward chugging back-bone is delicately layered with touches of modulated button-like bleeps, and a subtle, ever-present, rumbling low end. Providing an inescapable hook is flowanastasia's gorgeously smooth vocal which brightly juxtaposes the laidback, moody musical elements, skillfully extenuating each component. 

For us though the true beauty of ‘With You’ lies in its deceptive simplicity, it’s the lack of over-layering here which makes this truly special, with the percussion, melody and vocal each given the space to show how perfectly executed they are. ‘With You’ is crystal clear in it’s musicality and has an unquestionable elegance which proves you can stay classy while sporting your bass face.

Jack Mirror is a staple within the Viper Recordings camp, a producer and DJ who’s gone from newcomer to mainstay member following a string of high profile releases which have seen support amongst tastemakers such as UKF and BBC Radio 1. And now collaborating with Kove, an artist who’s paved himself a place within the annals of drum & bass. The producers combine two heavyweight production styles for a release under the Viper Recordings banner.

Kove is a familiar face on Viper and his return is marked by Jack Mirror, with the sonics of both combining for forthcoming single ‘Placebo’. An intro pulsating with thick subs, climbing step by step into a foreboding first breakdown and flipping kick drum sequences, the record drops into subterranean levels. Kove and Jack Mirror go for the jugular with this release, never allowing you up for air as you’re kept down in the deep reverberating bass of ‘Placebo’. Sometimes known for their more euphoric tracks, this upcoming cut offers the flip side of the pair’s darker production standard.

Viper Recordings add a moodier delivery for the lighter months but it’s the perfect accompaniment for late into a summer night in the dance. Jack Mirror and Kove are taking the lead with this, with ‘Placebo’ proving to be an exciting comeback for each producer.

One of the hottest acts to emerge in 2022, Georgie Riot has been making waves in the world of drum & bass with her unique blends behind the decks and breaking through with a series of her own productions to boot. Teaming up with New Zealand duo REPAIR who have been making waves in their own right on the other side of the world, we are thrilled to present their debut on Viper with Alimish “Walk Away”.

Fully embracing a summer sound with the A-side ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, the production and DJ duo smoothly combine old school style piano chords, signature energized drums and the pulse-racing vocals of Amy Pearson. Sharing a title with the aptly named EP, “Down on the Dancefloor” is the third and final single rounding off the debut EP from Deep Notion. With the first two singles “Right All Along” and “Give It To Me” with Captain Bass setting the bar high enough already, Deep Notion certainly doesn’t disappoint with this third and final installment.

As the name might suggest, “Down on the Dancefloor” is classic dancefloor DnB through and through – something of a huge sound in Deep Notion’s native New Zealand at the moment, and an integral part of the Viper sound since day one. However, Deep Notion delivers something of a twist as the build up to the drop picks up the pace in a dramatic way, seamlessly infusing elements of techno and other genres for a definitive DJ weapon.

Summoning images of laserbeams and fog machines, “Down on the Dancefloor” teleports the listener to the heart of the rave, paying homage to the classic dancefloor sound while adding outside influences that make it a memorable tune to say the least. Altogether, the Down on the Dancefloor EP is a strong end to what has been another massive year for Drum & Bass and for Viper – stay tuned for more in 2024!

Last of the three samplers but certainly not least, the third sampler brings with it not just two but three new songs from the likes of Madface, Cait C & Christina Harrison, and Feed The Fire & OHKAY to close off the Annual 2024 teasers.

One of Viper’s newest and most promising signings, Madface delivers his classic dancefloor sound by way of “Falling”. Ethereal and straight to the point, engaging vocals add to the infectious energy of the tune before dropping into one of his funkiest drops yet. Singalong synths pair with vibrant pads for a classic dancefloor drop that is sure to get any crowd moving and singing along.

The next look at Annual 2024 comes from Cait C and Christina Harrison who made their Viper debut together this time last year with “Feel”. Now, teaming up again one year later, the pair have outdone themselves with “By Your Side”. Christina Harrison’s velvet vocals exude power and charm, while Cait C builds up into a decimating dancefloor drop. Catchy and heavy in all the right places, “By Your Side” is a modern DnB ballad for the ages.

The final taste of Annual 2024 comes from Feed The Fire and OHKAY with “Forget Me”. Marking the German producer’s Viper debut and UK – based OHKAY’s follow-up to her track “Restart” with Sound In Noise & Aktive, “Forget Me” is a sultry dancefloor banger full of enticing vocals and energetic basslines for the new generation of ravers.

Making their Viper debut as part of the Future Fire series with “Runnin’”, tunnl vision are returning to the label in a big way with their first full EP release.

“Alive” is a psychedelic, funky DnB number with an irresistible groove present right from the start. Vibrant pads and sultry vocals from Kate McGill pair for an ethereal result that is a strong introduction to the tunnl vision alias.

Title track “Obelisk” paints a mysterious picture, transporting the listener to a fantasy realm from the first note. Equal parts foreboding and enticing, gentle vocals sweep over a less serene soundscape, in between glittering melodies and an optimistic edge. The juxtaposition of fantasy elements against the thumping bass of the drop gives way to a truly memorable tune from tunnl vision!

“I Killed My Techno” showcases a different side to the duo with, as the name might suggest, a techno influenced beat that is filthy to the core. Heavy and dark, the track screams underground rave with a twist – this one is sure to get crowds pumping.

Last but certainly not least, “Tonight” delivers euphoric dancefloor Drum & Bass at its finest. Sparkly and colourful with a luxurious vocal, tunnl vision demonstrate they are masters of the broad spectrum of the genre with this danceable, catchy number.

With four completely different yet equally mesmerizing tracks, tunnl vision have proven they are ones to watch without a shadow of a doubt. Coming a long way already from their Future Fire debut, this duo is definitely one to watch out for, and a strong early release for Viper in 2024.

Two names that need no introduction, Viper are proud to welcome back Zombie Cats to the label alongside BLVCK CROWZ for a massive four track collaborative EP.

The title track “Sucker Punch” lures the listener in with a bouncy melody and ethereal sounds, teasing an Eastern influence over a classic beat. Things start to turn to the dark side, however, with ominous vocals leading to the build up which completely destroys any earlier sense of serenity. As one might expect from the coming together of these two bass music giants, the drop is the amalgamation of jump-up energy and neurofunk intricacy, sure to please a wide range of fans.

Next up, “Emperor” is an enchanting last track with a radio-friendly vocal that will have crowds singing along come festival season without a doubt. The most upbeat of the EP, the drop offers a bouncing groove amidst face-skewing basslines and is a guaranteed earworm.

“Get With It” opens on a soft, almost acoustic note, with prominent strings offering a brief calm before the bass kicks in. Even more loud and in your face than its predecessor, “Get With It” will see the best bass faces come to light with a drop that is pure carnage.

Last but certainly not least, “Day You Die” is a haunting record as the name might suggest. An ominous vocal sets the stage before elegant piano takes over, giving the listener goosebumps almost immediately. The juxtaposition between the softer keys against another explosive drop makes this a stand out track, with the sounds of both BLVCK CROWZ and Zombie Cats easily recognisable amidst the chaos.

With two big names coming together for one even bigger EP, Zombie Cats and BLVCK CROWZ have outdone themselves with this “Sucker Punch EP”. A strong start to the year for Viper, this release is just a taste of what’s in store for 2024.

One of the hottest acts in Drum & Bass, Adelaide-based duo V O E are gearing up to release their first single of 2024, which also happens to be the first look at their debut album.

Known for their inimitable energy behind the decks and on the mic (and keytar), V O E’s productions are just as high octane as their performances, full of vibrant synths and mesmerizing vocals. One of Viper’s most exciting recent signings Solomon France teams up with label newcomer Blooom and vocalist Rienk for the mighty “Insomnia”.

Since signing exclusively with Viper Recordings in April, Austria’s Dossa & Locuzzed have been enjoying some serious recognition as one of the industry’s hottest new drum and bass duos. With their debut single ‘Only Way / Electric Boogie’ released back in May on Viper’s sister label Viper VIP to tumultuous praise, the talented producers have been hitting the scene hard in 2016. Featuring on Viper’s ‘Bassrush 1.0’ album with ‘Ninja’, as well as the annual ‘Drum & Bass Summer Slammers 2016’ compilation with ‘Banana Split’, Dossa & Locuzzed have been gaining support from some of the biggest names in the industry along with fresh new remixes of NC-17’s ‘Soldiers’ and Deuce & Charger’s ‘Who Can You Trust?’. ‘Dance’ sets the scene with an airy and atmospheric intro before spiralling headfirst in to a catchy beat packed full of funky synths, gritty stabs and plenty of old-school raver vibe. Adding some vocal samples and plenty of drums in to the mix, the duo has created the perfect recipe for a seriously eclectic track which is a sure-fire classic in the making.

Next up, ‘Shag’ jumps straight in with a mix of swirling synths and bouncy drums, kicking things off with a no-nonsense drop that means business. Featuring an up-tempo beat with aggressive stabs and riffs not unlike those you’d hear tearing up a jump-up dance, this first tune from the single packs a punch you’re not likely to forget.

Making his debut last year as one of Viper’s newest and most exciting signings, Jack Mirror first made waves on the label with ‘Assimilate’ as part of 2019’s Annual. Since then, singles ‘Utopia/Reset’ and ‘Pressure/This Lie ft. Voicians’ have turned more than a few heads – all with good reason.

Forging a unique place for himself within the drum & bass scene with his signature dystopian style, there’s no surprise label head Futurebound was determined to sign Jack Mirror after hearing early demos. Now, entering 2020 in a big way, Jack Mirror returns to Viper, this time with the euphoric dancefloor anthem ‘Oculus’ alongside German producer Champion. The Hamburg based producer who has a number of notable releases and infamous bootlegs, has decided to call time on his d&b moniker to focus on family life, and what a track to wrap it up with.

A cinematic intro pulls the listener in with intrigue and suspense, delicately building in energy and fervour while maintaining a certain sense of mystery. As the track unfolds, strong vocals add to the intrigue. Vibrant synths transform the track into an emotive dancefloor number while that sense of mystery still remains prevalent – the track is simultaneously catchy and enigmatic, telling a story and transporting the listener to a dystopian landscape crafted by Jack Mirror & Champion.
