The inimitable @Noton-info label's only release of 2021 comes courtesy of @AlvaNoto, with his 'HYbr:ID Vol.1' album, a collection of music composed for a choreographic piece performed by the Staatsballett Berlin in 2019.

Reboot The Planet

From the history of experimental music, we know of a number of ways to circumvent the traditional sound of the guitar – an instrument that has grown into a symbol of rock machismo and obsessive virtuosity. @gosheven chooses the strategy of an alternative tuning, adverting to the Pythagorean scale, Italian Renaissance masters and the minimalist tradition of La Monte Young. His intimate, diary-like songs run their serene course toward a looming apocalypse, shrouded in a mist of bittersweet melancholia. Gosheven undermines and bends the status of the European musical tradition, sidesteps the staleness of contemporary tuning and draws inspiration from other, more or less forgotten systems. A personal story unfolds on the background of history, narrated by an epicene voice addressing every single attentive listener.
Gosheven is also the founder of the @decolonizeyourmind collective an open society of musicians founded in 2018 presenting the inexhaustible treasures of non-Eurocentric tuning systems and decolonizing our listening habits

The sounds of the remaining nature is the most crucial inspiration for me, no matter what they are: bird calls, frogs, insects etc.

Nature around the Budapest studio building:
-cicadas that are almost present everywhere due to the rapid climate change
-a few harsh sounds of local Asio otus owls
-long scifi like sound is from the highest point of the Velence Hills, coming from the wind hitting the metal cables of the transmission tower

The percussion instruments played were both from Java and Bali: a small traditional kendang made of jackfruit wood and a Sundanese celempung made of very thick bamboo.
