It's been a long and strange year already.

A bit of gentleness for a change.

Even DeathBoys need to wind down sometimes.

Trying out a number of recently-acquired acoustic plugins and flexing my instrumental muscles a little in a way I typically don't.

A lot of the rhythmic parts here were me drumming on my laptop with my fingers, through a bunch of effects.

The photo for the track is from last christmas, spent with my folks, which I felt was appropriate as usually it's a... challenging time.

This year was lovely. Hugely better than expected. Just good times and love. So yeah, it fit.

Some filth that spilled out of my brain and into the sequencer.

I wanted there to be sirens. Sometimes sirens are a warning of danger, sometimes they're just there to tell you to pick up your state of awareness.

And sometimes they alert you, but sometimes they become music.

Quite a 90s vibe to both the orchestration / synth choices and the breaks in this. I am a lover of the 90s, so while I didn't set out for it to be an exercise in oldschool, I'm happy with how it turned out.
