Born in Brittany in 1987, Virgile Monin studied at the conservatoires of Nantes and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. He also benefited of advices from Jean Guillou and Henri-Franck Beaupérin, and attended the composition course at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Paris. He finished his studies by obtaining the Diplôme d'État of organ teacher.
 Laureate of the Toulouse international organ competition, he won first prizes at both Biarritz and Luxembourg competitions, and also the Grand Prix d'orgue Jean-Louis Florentz awarded by the Institut de France.
 Virgile Monin performs a wide repertoire, with special emphasis on the symphonic period, and is the author of several transcriptions for organ.
In march 2015, he has recorded for the label Fy/Solstice the complete organ works of Henri Mulet, on the historic Puget organ (1888) of Notre-Dame la Dalbade in Toulouse. 
 He regularly gives recitals in France and abroad.
