This continues to track with the narrative - very nicely done.  And the sound design, composition and production is very good too - but I really like the narrative aspect.

All sounds are coming from the Synth acompanied by a number of moderate tone shaping, mixing and mastering fx. I Mix/Master with MeldaProduction EQ/Compressor, Auburn Lense, Loudmax Limiter. All fx free or built into the DAW. DAW is Bitwig 5.3.x. No Samples. No Postprocessing after the audio export.

Last encountered in OSC70 this synth is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Ragnarök 2 is an update of this unique synth simulating a custom-built one-of-a-kind analog synthesizer from 1980. It is written in native C++ code for high performance and low CPU consumption.

Ragnarök is the collaborative work of Hans Peter aka CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin (synth concept, GUI design, user manual, patch programming) and Björn aka Full Bucket (DSP+GUI+patch programming). But every time he tried to create a Phoenix, it turned into a fire-breathing monster that knew neither friend nor foe. This time it hit Harold's flock of sheep... Only a few animals survived the attack. Fortunately, the creature turned back to ash in a few minutes. Was the merchant in KreVaRon ripping him off when he sold him the old manuscript from Ragnarök? He made his way to his old mentor Norat. He looked at the notes, but couldn't find any serious errors. Of course, as always, he found fault here and there. He was never completely satisfied with Ooriv's work, but that was always incentive enough to continue. Ooriv took notes and went back to his laboratory to try again. This time it had to succeed..."

JuergenK - Ambient2 - KVR #195: Ragnarök 2 by Full Bucket Music

This month's One Synth Challenge uses Ragnarok by FullBucket (and CrimsonWarlock). The slightly odd interface took a wee bit of getting used to but I'll not use that as an excuse for this effort. It does contain some passable bird type noises hence the unrelated reflection of a jungle in my living room. This is a first outing for my Exquis so most of it was recorded from live rather than my usual generated MIDI.

Anyway, this is brought to you with Bitwig Studio 5.3 and 19 instances of Ragnarok.  The following plugins were also used:

- dpMeter5, Blue Cat's Gain 3 and KClip Zero on clip to zero duty
- khs Delay, Reverb and Stereo to tart things up a bit
- Panflow to get it moving
- Bitwig's compressor+, eq+, drum machine, delay+ and multi-note
- the inevitable Valhalla Supermassive and almost as inevitable Raum for some reverb flavours
- TDR Kotelnikov and Nova for mastering with a wee bit of KClip Zero 

Also used Modalics Beat Scholar to generate the MIDI for the percussion and iZotope's Tonal Balance for, er, tonal balancing...

I've been brought back to my video game soundtrack drafts lately. This song focuses on an atmosphere of a lush alien world that was turned into a battlefield. Although I'm happy with the usual Simmons style drums I made with this synth, there is a strange behaviour that occurs when two that uses noise instances playing simultaneously, some kind of weird phasing/flanging effect. I tried to minimize it as much as possible, but I can still hear it. The synth itself has good tone shaping capabilities and it's CPU efficient just like all Full Bucket instruments. I really like the sound of an overdrive and chorus effects, the much needed sauce for a virtual analog.
