Overwhelming story, outstanding music... I am once again convinced that the attached story strongly influences perception of music... no, rather a complete art object, which is the description, the cover and the music itself! And I still can't believe that it was done with only this two synthesizers...

Will we ever be able to become worthy of the opportunity to download this masterpiece?

suspenseful "waiting" moment - could have been slightly longer -- made it feel a little more uncomfortable maybe?

This section is outstanding - the sound, the story, the production.... hits all the "right notes".

One Synth Challenge #186: Any Two Synths Challenge (second edition)

James Mullen had his first day, or rather his first night in the London police force on that foggy 31 August 1888. He was excited and proud at the same time and he was scared... He shouldn't be afraid, he was a policeman after all! Nevertheless, an uneasy feeling crept over him that simply could not be suppressed. He didn't like being out at night and yet he tried not to let on that he would rather be at home in his bed than prowling through the darkest streets of London in the middle of the night... 

He turned into Buck's Row and suddenly stopped... ‘What's that...?’ He walked slowly towards the small pile in the alley. It was dark and he couldn't see his hand in front of his eyes. Only now did he realise that he had not yet lit his lamp, even though his instructor had told him to do so again and again. 

He lit his lamp and shone it in the direction of the heap on the road and immediately wished he hadn't. Staring in fear and horror, he couldn't believe what he was seeing and without realising it, he cried like he had never cried before in his life... 

‘You'll never forget your first day at the police station’ said his mum with a smile as he said goodbye to her. She was right...

This month's One Synth Challenge uses Dawsome Myth. This synth comes with a massive sound design rabbit hole so this month's effort might be biased towards sound design with a rather more lame composition than usual. Created in Bitwig Studio 5.2.7. All patches were created from init and used various samples including vocal phrases, oohs and aahs, my dog barking, a wok lid, hitting metal things and at least one sample generated with Deep Sampler. There might be a patch in there using audio dragged from another patch too... In addition to that, although most tracks were almost exclusively using the synth's built in effects, the following plugins were also used:
