In March 2020, Zebbler Encanti Experience's U.S. tour was cut short by the global pandemic. As Zebbler retreated to Boston, Encanti fled the United States the day before Scottish borders closed to lockdown with his partner Catherine, on the wild west coast of the moody and remote Highlands at Eagle Rock. With the material world peeled back to expose the bare bones of existence, Syncorswim is a meditation on the myriad faces of love in a silent world gone mad with fear and loss. Each song is an emotional destination, a freeform concert created in the vacuum of a literal wilderness, performed for an audience of one.
 
Encanti revels in the authentic expression of live performance instead of relying as much on post-production editing throughout the album. All synth sounds on Syncorswim are cuts from live jams on the OB-6 analog synthesizer, bringing a warm and personal touch to the fabric of the production. Encanti also designed his own custom software, the Refractalizer, to create the granular textures heard throughout the album. The resulting convergence of analog synthesis and customized digital time-stretching gives this album a unique profile.
 
Zebbler created a 4K visual counterpart to each track, taking pride in personally recording all of the footage used. He set out to capture the landscapes and sensual morphology of America’s wilderness and heartland with his girlfriend Leah. The visual narrative constructed alongside the music production is a series of meditations on the strange beauty of our planet, from the smallest speck of sand to vistas spanning hundreds of miles and everything in between. It is also a celebration of survival and love … Zebbler proposed to Leah halfway through this trip, under the world’s tallest tree deep in the redwood forests of California. And she said yes.
 
Syncorswim is the sound of silence, and of stillness in motion. It has unseen depths and illusions that mature with repeat plays. Recommended listening is on headphones or a nice sound system, and with videos in high definition. For this album, the experience is intimate.

From the inception of The Rust Music as an official operation through to now, we’re fortunate to have fostered friendships with a cast of adjacent and connected creatives in our hometown of New York, New York. Amongst that extended crew, AMAWALK has been a frequent flier both on the stage and throughout our release roster. After several quiet years, he’s taking a step back out of the lab into the light with a new project and eponymous release; iima.

The two-track EP feels at home within this producer’s traditional wheelhouse of sound, having been matured and sharpened at the edges. It’s distinctly melodious and in line with pocketed IDM influences and arrangement, bringing synthesis to the forefront for a succinct dance between harmony and rhythm. "Trumours - When an rumour is sufficiently circulated that it becomes accepted as truth without needing to be substantiated / when a rumour actually turns out to be true / something which is simultaneously humorous, as well as accurate."

By giving album the name "Trumours", Gianluca sets the premise of showcasing the complex relationships between things, that people usually oversimplify with their biases and beliefs. In this case, the relationship between an artist and his creation, which an artist in question wants to polish to an unreachable perfection, in addition to that, leave small details for people to find. Somewhere in this relationship, the audience and the people that surround the musician play a key role as well, by not only giving recommendations and feedback, but also exchanging important experiences and knowledge with an artist. The relationships form; an endless stream / feedback of information is built, thus allowing one to grow even further and beyond in all kinds of directions.

AMAWALK cultivates reverberant atmospheres and intuitive arrangements with his dual-track release, Flubbed, taking full advantage of stereo space and musical modalities. It’s his second release through The Rust Music, and a potent expansion of his immersive, genre-blending style. 

The one-two punch packaged up in Flubbed is a duality of rhythm and sensuality. Ambient pads and stereophonic echoes combine with world-fusion percussion to create a primal listening experience. The phrasing is simple and elaborate at the same time, showcasing strong songwriting evolution paired with bold sound design choices and a sense of note relationships. Both tunes build on powerful root melodies and syncopated harmonies, so there’s a distinct alliteration to the EP. Open to close, Flubbed is an emotive wave of choice engineering and crisp compositions that aptly displays the ongoing growth of AMAWALK’s musical vision.
