just another one of these songs that's been here forever. I originally tried to write a song for my friend Mission in 2019 and then it sorta morphed into an opportunity cost theme where I spent way too much time working on music and could have been doing literally anything else to make enough to pay rent. The chorus sort of negates that basically saying nah, it doesn't matter where you are, your dumb head still carries around the same dumb brain so you'll probably be just as bummed out no matter where your at. I also spent a week trying to learn how to black-metal scream for the ending shoegazey part a la deafheaven, but that shit's too hard!

the last song I wrote for the album, maybe in 2020 when I was living at my parent's house in Yuma after graduating university and feeling entirely directionless. I would sit at home all day and hang out with the dogs and play my mom's upright piano. It didn't even rain once the entire 6 months. Finally got around to packing my shit and moving to Atlanta, and this was the first song I showed to Dylan, who was probably the first one who heard any of these songs. Thanks Dylan for listening!
