ENGLISH:
Federico Gidaro, aka Virtus, was born in Rome on November 22, 1986, and from an early age he expressed his interest in music. He studied accordion at the Luciano Fancelli's school and also he attended for a short period the Elio Polizzi's school specialized in movie music. Currently he is engaged in studies of musicology at the Faculty of Arts and Fiolosofia Torvergata University in Rome.
His approach to reggae music has begun in the summer of 2004 thanks to the friends of his origin country in the south of Italy (St. Andrea Apostolo dello Jonio - Cz). Since 2005 starting out the first self-productions along with the first performances. In the winter of 2006 started the collaboration with the Pakkia Sound (of which he was a member until 2009) with whom he could perform in historic locations of reggae roman such as the CSOA Global Village and the CSOA Intifada.
In 2008 he participated in the compilation Southyard # 1 (of the homonymous Southyard Records) as author of the song "Mi gyal" and as a composer of "Bless The Ladyes riddim" on which they sang important italian singers like Fido Guido, Mama Marjas, Kalafro Sound Power and Treble (ex Sud Sound System). In 2009 he released his first album in free download (www.virtusdisco2.altervista.org) containing old songs rearranged and new productions played and composed by VirtuS (except for Early Morning riddim and Bullet Era riddim produced by MacroMarco).
At the end of 2011 "Waiting Fi Di Album" is released, a new work singed in patwa based on riddims made by italian and european producers (free download at http://www.divshare.com/download/16210971-bc9). Some of the single inclused in the album like Bun 'till a morning" and "Ragga music inna mi life" are available on vinyl 7" with others international artist like Yami Bolo, Million Stylez and General Levy. At the same time starts the "Waiting fi di Tour" which let him go out of Italy with dates in France, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
In the 2012, the site Reggae.fr choose him as one of the upcoming artist revelation of the year.
In the 2013 he produced, in collaboration with Saime Multiculture, the "Boss It Up riddim" singing on it and collaborating with international artist like Mandinka Warrior and General Good.
Currently he is undertaken to spread his music through live concerts backed by Miss B-Ranks (outta Gal Dem Crew).  Also is a member of REDGOLDGREEN, a collective formed by musicians, singers, djs and producers in order to promote culture, events and musical productions.


ITALIANO:
Federico Gidaro in arte VirtuS nasce a Roma il 22 Novembre del 1986 e fin dalla giovane età manifesta i suoi interessi verso la musica. Studia fisarmonica nell'infanzia presso la Scuola di Musica Luciano Fancelli e frequenta successivamente per un breve periodo la scuola di musica per film del maestro Elio Polizzi. Si laurea nel 2013 in Musicologia presso la facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia dell'università di Torvergata a Roma.
L 'approccio alla musica reggae/dancehall avviene nell'estate del 2004 grazie agli amici del paese d'origine Sant'Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio (Cz). Dal 2005 iniziano così le prime autoproduzioni insieme alle prime esibizioni. Nell'inverno del 2006 nascono le prime collaborazioni col Pakkia Sound (di cui è stato poi membro fino al 2009 ) con il quale inizia ad esibirsi in alcune delle storiche locations del reggae romano come il Villaggio Globale e l'Intifada. 
Nel 2008 partecipa alla compilation Southyard #1 (dell'omonima Southyard Records) sia come autore del brano "Mi gyal", sia come produttore del riddim/beat "Bless The Ladyes" sul quale hanno cantato nomi come Fido Guido Mama Marjas, Kalafro Sound Power e Treble. Il ritmo è anche stato stampato su vinile 7". Nel 2009 esce il suo primo album contenente vecchi brani (in un nuova veste sonora) e altri più recenti tutti su strumentali da lui composte e suonate (ad eccezione di Early Morning e Bullet Era). 
La fine del 2011 vede l'uscita di "Waiting Fi Di Album", un lavoro cantato completamente in patwa (lingua creola jamaicana) su strumentali di produttori italiani e stranieri (scaricabile qui: http://www.divshare.com/download/16210971-bc9). Alcuni tra i singoli presenti nel disco come "Bun 'till a morning" e "Ragga music inna mi life" vengono stampati su vinile (7") insieme ad altri nomi importanti della scena reggae internazionale come Yami Bolo, Million Stylez e General Levy. In concomitanza dell'uscita dell'album parte il "Waiting fi di Tour" che lo porta ad esibirsi oltre che in molte città italiane anche in diversi paesi esteri come Francia, Belgio, Spagna e Portogallo.
Nel 2012 viene inserito dal noto sito Reggae.fr tra gli artisti "scoperte e rivelazioni dell'anno". 
Nel 2013 produce, in collaborazione con Saime Multiculture, il Boss It Up riddim sul quale cantano, oltre allo stesso VirtuS, nomi della scena d'oltralpe come Mandinka Warrior e General Good.
Attualmente è impegnato a diffondere la sua musica tramite concerti accompagnato dalla dj Miss B-Ranks (Gal Dem crew). E' inoltre componente del movimento REDGOLDGREEN, un collettivo composto da musicisti, djs e producers, il quale si propone come promotore di cultura, di eventi e di produzioni musicali.
