Hello everybody, this is Sasha speaking. This episode of our sound diary talks about a small village in Turkey called Cirali located on the sea coast and surrounded by mountains and fir forest. With my friends and family I spent about a month there experiencing almost perpetual state of happiness. This audio collage consists of the music that rhymed with my emotions and that I used to listen to a lot there as well as some field recordings and blurry conversations that I took with my phone recorder.

What is it?
The vintage drum machines with the warm sounds of the analog synthesizers, whose parts balance somewhere on the verge of avant-garde jazz, weird & obscure disco, Indie Dance and Arabic melodies.
Slithering synth lines meet gypsy-like rhythmic patterns and solid robot-like precision drum work.

Next to lock in for the global lockdown is Julienne Dessagne AKA Fantastic Twins with an absolute mind melter. 

Her back catalogue of releases with Optimo Music, Hippie Dance, Kompakt, and Against Facism Trax is not to be trifled with, along with her legendary live set that is finely honed to a diamond edge on the most celebrated dance-floors of Europe and beyond. As well as this, Julienne remains forever busy by running her incredible label Microdosing.

"Microdosing is a collective experiment aimed at helping you fighting back your modern obsession with happiness. Microdosing will provide you with sonic healing weapons on regular basis and at irregular dosage. Life is a struggle, time to embrace it."

Her sound is aptly described as ‘mental’ in the best possible way. Trance inducing synth drones,  and tribal percussion lull the listener into an induced hypnosis, before unleashing a barrage of EBM and post-punk belters. Wallop!
