In this excerpt from the prelude to the chorale "Wachet Auf, ruft uns die Stimme" (BWV 645 - the first in the Schübler collection), we can hear the cantus firmus performed by the Trompete 8' of the MAN II; this reed stop, with its sonorous but at the same time sweetly nasal timbre, lends itself perfectly to the performance of the solo part; The Rohrgedackt 8' supports it, barely emphasising the fundamental, thus giving more "roundness" to the combination; the obbligato accompaniment part, on the other hand, is performed on the MAN I by the Principal 8' alone, which, with its pronounced attack, well recalls the bowed instrument to which it is entrusted in the original version (BWV 140). The pedalboard, combined with the MAN I, plays its part with the deep and gentle Subbass 16'. 
In the organ score, the right hand plays the violins, the left hand is the solo voice, which in the orchestra is entrusted to the tenor voice, while the pedal plays the basso continuo's part. The tenor's singing is well emphasised by the use of a reed stop, in this case the trompete, which best expresses the joyful and solemn character of this famous composition.

Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (BWV 645) - J. S. Bach

Johann Gottfried Vierling was a German organist and composer. He was born in Metzels and began his musical studies with Johann Nikolaus Tischer whom he succeeded as organist in the city of Schmalkalden. Later, continued with Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Johann Philipp Kirnberger. He composed several collections of easy organ pieces, a four-voice organ chorale book (1790) and cembalo music. Moreover tTwo handwritten annual volumes of Kirchenkantaten are preserved. He also published an handbook on the art of Basso Continuo titled "Allgemein faßlicher Unterricht im Generalbaß". This short Choral Prelude, based on the famous Lutheran hymn written by the theologian and reformer Johann Gramann, begins as a short fantasia with a bright and serene character played with 8', 4' and 2' principals of both manuals coupled; after this episode Posaune 16' of pedalboard and Mixtures are pulled on to play the majestic Choral melody by pedalboard and left hand one octave apart while right hand continues with his joyful figures of quavers and semiquavers. In the final cadence 16' flue stop of MAN I is switched on to get full Plenum organ sound.

Prelude to the chorale ‘Erbarm dich mein, o Herre Gott’ BWV 721 
The chorale ‘Erbarm dich mein, o Herre Gott’ (BWV 721) by Johann Sebastian Bach is associated with the season of Lent, particularly Holy Week, and musically describes the contemplative and penitential mood of this liturgical moment. The Vox Celeste stop was used to give it more pathos, as it is a naturally tuned stop that is slightly descending or rising, combined with a lower stop it generates an oscillating effect reminiscent of the vibrato of singing.

Cantorum Uno Plus Prelude to the chorale ‘Erbarm dich mein, o Herre Gott’ BWV 721

Dietrich Buxtehude was one of the organists who most influenced J. S. Bach. This prelude consists of several contrasting sections. The contrast is made evident by the musical writing, which must be emphasised by the change of stops. The most frequently used combinations are the ripieno, which consists of principal, octave, superoctave, mixtur and trompete with its variations, and combinations of softer stops such as rohrflote 4'. The variety of stops used by Buxtehude not only emphasises the different sections of the prelude, but also creates a rich and vibrant musical dialogue. This juxtaposition generates an extremely dynamic composition where the listener is continuously surprised and involved.
