THE MAGICAL MANDRAKE

Dear Mandrakians,

The last stop on my 2022 European tour was The Mandrake Hotel’s 5th birthday, a show that I had been looking forward to for so long. 

I can confidently say that The Mandrake experience was a life changing, artistically inspiring, and energy recharging moment for me. The deep rooted spiritual intention & philosophy driven by the hotel’s owner, Rami, was seen in every detail of the hotel & the production but felt stronger when i had the opportunity to meet him after my performance. 

An energetic exchange took place when he gave me hug to say thanks for the music and upon the touching heads a magnetic field was generated, it was a soul enriching moment full of love & positivity. It felt as though our souls had joined for a moment. As our hug continued Rami begun to download his health, wisdom & knowledge into my energy field, I felt completely enlightened, my nervous system recharged , finally the misted COVID fog had been broken.

This mix I put together is a journey into the psychedelic,  exotic,  space rock, mystical western influenced deep organic house & tribal cosmic rhythms.

Woaah, that was quiet intense! Thanks for all the people who danced with me through the rain, I really enjoyed this special closing at this lovely festival! 

Thanks to @sahrabass for writing and recording the lovely intro story for the set and the outro track (which we developed together for last years @bassaramusic gig - we hope to release that soon!). 

Lots of love to @iva-bodul for beeing such a good travel buddy, helping me when preparing my set, giving me feedback and drinks, dancing, laughing and everything <3! 

Thanks to all the artists which I had the fun of collaborating with (@lask_aa, @iva-bodul, @latenightjockelsession, @seniorcitizen_wav and some more) or whose work I used for my edits!

I also want to thank all the supporters, sound/light guys & girls and the mystic crew for making this whole event happen and letting me be a part of it!Last but not least thanks to my Wild Things & Grinsekatzen-Crew for your camp and the support! :)

When we arrived on sunday, it was all (still) a summer(nights) dream on the island and I enjoyed checking out all the places (and especially the funky float I should do the closing on on monday). As the weather forecasts seem to manifest on some heavy temperature drop and rain, I was a little bit nervous how that will work out with the setting on/by the water.
When I woke up on monday I read the message that my gig was moved to the Creatures Corner - which was in fact the best thing that could happen to me (so for that - thanks to the weather gods ;)). I really love that stage, the crew who build it, the soundsystem and the whole setting <3!

With the main track of the EP Soble makes you dive deep into the nature of his hypnotic soundbank. The journey between the mountains towards the Orient is pervaded by mystical flute playing and driving Percs. It leads you past villages where organic plucked instruments can be heard coming out of the mud huts. Synthetic toppings bring the whole build-up to the peak. A feast for the ears that makes the long journey truly indispensable. The Forest tells the story of the woods behind the mountains. Rousing shakers set the beat and won't let you go. Soble has put these gentle but not to be overheard vocals in this EP, together with the ensemble of organic-syntetic melodies they give the piece the drive it needs. 959’s remix of The Forest brings the vocals to the fore and adds a good deal of synthetic material. Crunchy driving percussions form the framework of the track. Suddenly a deep bass sounds in the bridge and shakes the path, formed from the well-known melodies of the original. The very model of a remix. Samaha tightens the screws a little more with his version of the forest. A icing on the cake which gives the EP the final touch. From the start to finish, Samaha made sure you don‘t miss out on anything here. In this interpretation
nothing is missing, close to the original and yet another world. Driving, captivating and harmonious at the same
time.

Just a little reinterpreation for my 2019-Liveset @klunkerkranich :)
The original Rabenkind was a little laidback, so I wanted a more danceable/funky version. It is not thaaaat polished (just added the E-Piano I wanted to play live, changed the Kick and did some basic mixing). This release is kind of a "Thank you" for supporting me in 2020 that much :) You will see some more releases from myself and my project @bassaramusic (with the lovely @sahrabass) in the near future!
