Ki Bedonate (Cover)

Arjun and I started curating songs for a Community Radio Assignment and we really enjoyed ourselves while doing it. The songs are usually sung by an artist from College accompanied by a guitarist. The result has been worth sharing with the world.  These songs have been recorded using a humble zoom H1 in the most basic environments. The recording is raw in the real sense, that is why it is called STUDIO RAW SOUND.

Vishal Langthasa and Suradip Langthasa revisit a 90s classic Dimasa song originally sung by a veteran Dimasa singer Krishna Langthasa and produced by Phorongbili Productions based in Maibang, Assam. This song appeared in the album titled 'Nokhabling' (Moonlight). (LYRICS & TRANSLATION BELOW)

"Ning Khakhuyaba Daogari" translates as "The figurine that you created". This song essays a young girl's humility and free spirit. On seeing a sculpture of herself made by a sculptor in honor of her beauty she says to him that she does not hold such spell binding beauty as his sculpture.

This acoustic cover celebrates Phorongbili's decades of contribution to Dimasa modern music. Entirely a zero budget project, it is also an experimentation with the most basic sound recording equipment and musical instruments. This cover was recorded using only a Zoom H1 and Rode video mic go and contains real sounds from the Diyung river and Jatinga rivers of Dima Hasao District, Assam. Produced with prior permission from Phorongbili Productions. The lyrics and composition of the song are owned by Phorongbili Productions, Maibang. Any recreation of the song without prior permission will be considered an offence.
