Groove Culture 005 features Bangalore-based DJ & Producer, Vishal Unni, dishing out some eargasmic techno for the soul! 🤌 

Vishal Unni begun his career as a DJ/Producer three years ago and in a short span of time he’s already shared the stage with heavyweights like Mateo and Spirit, as well as opened for the legendary artist, Basshunter by winning a DJ competition. His primary influences come from artists like, Boris Brejcha, Maksim Dark, Kohra and SHFT. His sounds can be described as a marriage of the more melodic side of Progressive House and Techno in terms of musicality and structure, with dark pulsating bass lines and rich psychedelic influences. In terms of energy his sets jump back and forth between darker and brighter sound stages, creating a continual wave of movement throughout.

His sound can be described as a symbiosis of the deeper realms of techno,
laced with futuristic soundscapes and psychedelic characteristics.

melodic & minimal techno influences blended with a new found inspiration for

Hypnus Records, both of which have played a critical role in his sonic journey.

His mix for the sixth edition of ELVT In The Mix is a gripping journey which begins with a deep ambient intro, transporting you into Vishal’s sonic imagination - from where he progressively interweaves both elements of groove and euphoria, whilst steadily building the pace and textures throughout the auditory expedition. Vishal manages to perfectly incorporate elements of deep and hypnotic techno, with hints of psychedelic overlays. The 58 minute journey concludes with a vibrant, warm and ambient outro, completed with acid undertones - that almost becomes reflective of the last hour of listening.

Having played at all the top venues in Bangalore, in December 2017, he ventured out of his home city to play at the legendary Hilltop in Goa, for the CTRL ALT DANCE Festival, as well as for the iconic KRANK festival that has
hosted some of the biggest artists in the industry.

His sound can be described as a symbiosis of the more melodic side of progressive house, and the darker, more futuristic sounds of techno, with rich psychedelic influences.
